Inching closer to winter and snow pics, but let's keep going as long as possible.

Here's my hawk - I believe now it's a Cooper's hawk.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone! Beautiful raptor, Victor!

Here is a shot of three of the pies I made for today.

Wow! So yummy looking!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Those pies are definitely yummy looking, Willie. Wish I was there to share!

I love the salt and pepper shakers!!

Do I see a bottle of Jim Beam/Cutty Stark?

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

WNYwillieB...gingerbread crust! Have to try that...pear and cranberry is a appealing combination too.

See you have a scroll saw silhouette. Did you cut it out? I used to make and sell them at arts and craft shows. Did a hummingbird similiar to yours.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

I just spent the morning scrolling through all the photos I had missed on the last thread, then jumped here.....Willie, that is a stunning photo in itself, but you mentioned gingerbread crust, and it has been so long since I ever thought of a gingerbread piecrust I might have to get my baking gear out. Pears, apples....those I have, and now I think I have some wild ginger too...of course I also have normal ginger, but I never enjoy doing normal things nearly as much as those that are a bit more difficult. Thanks for the reminder.

I hope you all have a lovely day, sun is shining here and the 60 degree weather is nothing to sneeze about, so from western KY to all you folks, have a glorious blessing filled day.
Thanks for brightening my day with all your pictures.

I am going to make some gingerbread!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Those pies look great Willie but im partial to anything with pears. Mmm!
Sharran, homemade ginger bread warm right out of the oven sounds heavenly.

Pies from left to right: Pumpkin, Apple, Squash

Triple layer chocolate pie not shown as DS took it to his frig up in his room. Yes, he has a frig in his room, but I didn't think to look there when I "misplaced" the pie. He's a funny boy!!!
Then my brother brought a peacan and blueberry pie. I have pie coming out my nose!!!!!!

Miss Orryanna on her first Thanksgiving day. She had turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, string beans, ect... her Mom puts it in a blender and blends away. She ate pretty much what we ate.

Orryana is a real cutie, Celeste. But she really enjoyed her Thanksgiving dinner. Your pies and wreath look good.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

love the hawk Victor... and everything looks so yummy... I am whooped after today

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Purple shoes, Pixie...how very beautiful, and look at those blue eyes. My little 4 year old will be here tomorrow.

Great pies, too...actually chocolate anything is right up there with gingerbread in my book! I would hide it in my fridge, too.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Ohhhh. chocolate. Always a winner for me! I love the "wreath" too. I like Orryanas' name. It's different and interesting. can I get the recipe for that "wreath" from you Pixie?

Brandon, MS(Zone 8a)

Uhmm, uhm! Talented people in the NE! First, the raptor is gorgeous, Victorgarden. Next, WMYWillieB, you made my stomach growl with those scrumptous pies. All keen eyes here found something of interest on your lovely table. I have an amusement to add -- your computer is opened to Daves Garden. I like that.

Pixie, I'll eat all your pies, but the best-looking cuisine is the Holiday Wreath. What's in it?

Miss Orryanna is a doll.

Martha

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

I'm glad that you reminded me Martha... I forgot Willie.
Willie... your pies look fantastic. Your choice of drink was much more sophisticated than mine. Part way through cooking today, I opened Weinhard's and called it good. The PC being open to DG was a classic touch.

Sheesh Martha, you are up late! or maybe early?

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Hi RC. DH just got up to do the crazy shopping thing. I'm having pumpkin pie. Best one I ever made, maple syrup in it. Didn't get to it earlier, and shouldn't be now.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

oh my gosh Debilu... good luck with that. I avoid shopping at all costs today!!! can't stand the crowds.

love that close up of the leaf RC

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I hope everyone had the bestest turkey day ever!

And ..... Thanks everyone! I tried to save all y'all a piece, but I blinked and everything was scoffed up!!

Here is the recipe I used for the Pear Cranberry Tart with Gingerbread Crust:
http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Cranberry-Pear-Tart-with-Gingerbread-Crust-10946

It is quite a process, but if you start it the day before, it isn't so bad.

Those are my fav. shakers, Deb .... Though, the silver is a ***** to keep untarnished! If dad had known there would be flies on the counter, he'd of had a cow!

Sorry, Sherrie, no Jim Beam/Cutty Stark .... Flora Gourmet Balsamic Vinegar .... empty! Guess that is what we should have in the larder if you should happen by, eh? :-)

David, the scrollwork was leftover from Mom who bought it at a craft show somewhere, I bet. Maybe it is one of yours!!

Thanks, Sharon .... I am glad to have been able to inspire a memory passed, as so here many have inspired in me.

Your holiday wreath looks very festive, Pixie! I am surprised no one gobbled up Orryanna! adorable! I am with Sharon .... Let's raid the boy's fridge!!!!!

So sorry to have made your tummy tumble! I probably should have cross-posted this one the Show Us Your DG Central page and bumped it up, Martha. That is one of the corners where I have a computer tucked away.

As long as no one notices how dirty the windows are, I am safe!!

JoAnn: That pumpkin swirl cheese cake sounds awesome. Fingers (and toes) crossed for Monday!!

Shelly, Shelly, Shelly! How does one forget dear Willie??!!?? At least you more than made up for it by posting your usual, brilliant photos! :-)

Hope you're well rested today, Allison! Along with everyone else!

Glad no one noticed the rock on the window sill from Pike's Peak .... not sure that's legal!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great dark leaf, Shelly.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Pumpkin Swirrl Chese cake comes from Cheesy Eddys a locally based company started in 1972,
Cant believe I'm working on my coleus tubs for 2009.
Rosy Dawn comes online with 2009 catalogue .Pirl and I will be camping out until it opens.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

mwperry, the wreath is amazingly easy! It has colored peppers, brocc. florets, red onions, diced ham, Garden Veggie cream cheese. Simetimes I make it with Roasted Garlic & Herb cream cheese. The actual recipe calls for Pineapple cream cheese but my family didn't like it so I switched it up. I use piece of christmas tree and a red candle for Christmas Eve.

Here's the recipe if anyone would like to try it.

I thought I was still full from yesterday, but those recipes are outstanding--thanks, everyone! Victor---Cooper's like to hang out at birdfeeders---they love the songbirds! Shelley--nice to see real blooms still---I just have houseplants, except for 1 dianthus blossom that can't quite open up. My plant catalogs have started to come--I've picked out some veggies, but nothing in flowers yet. Don't know if I'll have any money---I owe the vet big bucks for the Airedale's exams, & can't wait til I see how much the ultrasound costs!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Wow, I didn't even pick up on that fact that your computer was open to DG, Willie! Nice! And I never would have noticed the dirty windows or the rock, either. I certainly wouldn't have known where the rock came from, as it doesn't have a sign on it that reads "This rock came from Pike's Peak".

got this titmouse today

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Thanks Victor and Willie. Still laughing at that one Willie. :-p

Thanks for the wreath recipe Pixie. I think that I'll agree with your substitution of the savory roasted garlic and herb for the sweet pineapple cream cheese. I think that i'll give it a try for Christmas, if I stay close to home.

You're doing great Robin. I do aweful with houseplants! The few (two maybe) outside blooms that I've found left have been well protected under leaves. it's unfortunate that I had to move the leaves. :-( Oh well, maybe I'll find some more. Ohhh I did find one cool thing though coming out very early, but I haven't downloaded it from my camera yet. you'll have to wait until tomorrow. In fact, I may throw leaves on it to protect it for a while longer. I'm so sorry to hear about the vet bills, that's never a nice reality shock.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Nice shot, Allison! Great 'pose'.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Robin, last year my dog was hit by a car and the bills were about $600. Ouch! So glad my baby was okay, though. She only had a fractured rib. She had run off and got to the busy road that's not too far through our woods. She actually walked back home, and cop followed her. My sister took her to the vet, as I was in Florida at the time. Fortunately she hasn't taken off on us since. She is very naughty sometimes, but I love her.

Cute titmouse, Allison.

Thomaston, CT

When I was still teaching, I told our secretary we had a lot of titmice at our feeder----she gave me a strange look---then accused me of making up the name! They are neat birds, but they are driving out our Chickadees. They compete for both food & nesting sites. I'd say we have 8 titmice to 1 chick. But the photo is great---you just have a wonderful talent for bird photos, Allison. What kind of dog, Karen? And don't those kinds of things happen when you're gone!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Yes, Robin, those things do seem to happen when your gone. I have a half Basset hound and half Dalmatian named Patches. She is the sweetest thing. Here's a picture of her.

Karen what a cool looking dog!!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

aaaaaawwwww looks like a sweet heart

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

That's such a neat looking dog Karen, I love the combination of those breeds. All the spots on the little body and probably not nearly as hyper as a dalmation either. It's cute!
