A wonderful snowy Christmas to everyone.
Tilly's Little Acre
gosh, she is a beauty, Tils.
I love the juxtaposition of the presents: bend-over and push present for Lizzie, and next to it the lumbar massage/heat pad for grandparents who do all of the pushing. Good plan.
I saw that too Laurie LOL
Really made me smile. That lovely phrase "we do what we know - before we know what we do".
Mom was reminiscing about watching me on the floor putting together Christmas presents for my boys. If I tried that now, I would have a really hard time getting up!^_^
Thank you all, She is a sweetie but very adamant of what she wants and nothing else was important but that thing in the box, She couldn't get out. And what was sad the heat pad, wasn't for me "darn" Gift to my DH. Hows that work??? I work he doesn't Mmmmm somebody look-in for favors Ha Ha.
"Whats in the bag, Unkie"
Now there's three pooped puppies for sure!! All that fun just wore them out.
I agree with Pix - focus, Lizzie, it will get you there!
All of my Helles were flattened by the snow, too. Several different types were beginning to flower, so I don't know what to expect from them now.
I might not perform really well either, if I had been covered with lots of snow...
Shouldn't bother them at all - several plants actually droop as a response to the cold and then warm up again with no ill effect. Hellebores do that regularly. It will be right as can be at the first sign of a slight rise in temperatures.
I've got several dark blues about to come to blossom. I'm going out to cut off all the old leaves tomorrow morning, it helps protect them from getting black spot, and makes the blossoms really show up. Don't remove any of the smaller new leaves.
(I've had to edit this twice - don't drink chablis and type, really upsets your spelling!)

Tills, can hardly wait to see that with full blooms - going to look wonderful!
So when do I cut back the tall kinds - sorry, effects of last night's champagne haven't quite cleared the brain, all I can do is describe the plant. Blooms on the end of the stalk? Prickly kind of leaves, tall hellebore. Niger, maybe? Do I cut back after bloom? Cut the leaves off the Orientalis hybrids earlier this week. Some are coming out with blooms.
If mine gets black spot on it, I break the leaves off the stalk and just leave the blooms.
Its really only the Niger and Orientalis that are prone to black spot (they are the ones with the large plamate leaves, low growing). The Foetidus, Sternii, and Corsica don't need it. Those you can just allow to grow on.
It is indeed
O' Boy O' Boy
Another fun tread
Good plan. I think I am next for the tour? It will be a few days, I am just waiting for the sun to come out (this could be a long wait!), to get my opening photos -
I can't wait to see yours Laurie, I know it has been hard for pix with the weather we had. And we still have 2 months to go for winter LOL I so hope it goes peacefully by. for all of us.
My DH the craftsman ( in Training LOL)
Made these for a Coffee stand that he really likes, for a Tip Jar. He was so intense on making them (I think he likes the girls) LOL
But I have to give him a Ada Boy, he did a nice thing for them for Christmas.
Rat, help me with the photos
Very clever and nicely done. Love your 'helper'. You gotta watch those girls in the coffee booth. At least it's not like CA. Down there they wear bikinis. LOL
Funny. These girls I know. But have hear about the Bikinis ones, we do have some here, but in the Seattle side not my side at least as yet. this coffee stand is on the reservation, has to follow codes.
I'm not sure I am comfortable with the idea of espresso machine and bare flesh - no, very uncomfortable.
I got the rest of my photos today - (oh, what a gorgeous day - last night was crystal clear, that kind of sky when you can see the milky way - just wonderful, and it last all day. We have come in after watching the last of the light fade from over the hill. Good good good.)
Now to do some downloading, organizing, and then the tour will begin. no tickets required, festival seating.
I am looking forward to your tour Laurie. Your description of today sounded wonderful.
