Tills...
I made it to your page to ck out your little forest hideaway! Very very neat...and awesome ideas for watering! That electric blue morning glory is just a jaw dropper! It looks like a color enhanced water painting! Beautiful! I can almost smell the camp fire smoke swirling around me! Wow...did your hubby make those wagon wheel chairs? Sooooo unique! You have a fun little place there FOR SURE! Lots of areas for secret gardens etc.

Keep posting... me likkie what I see!!! Bravo!!

they fade from this very rich purple to blue. These bloomed yesterday - still going.
Throats glow like there are little lamps in there - guess that's what the Bees see.

Do we call you POOF* LOL
I like my little place in the woods, Its homey and I have basically no neighbours that can see me, and off the road enough you cant see in, but I can hear that there are people out there. And Thank you *****

Katye, this in my first time planting them, I started them in the house then when the temp got a little better to the GH. They looked so bad I did not think they would amount to much. I got a big pot and put them in it on the deck, and told them to sink or swim LOL I think they sat there for a week or so thinking about it, then off they when Guess they decided to swim. ^_^

And I would love more seeds and the trick to get my own, not to good in that dept. LOL

Hi Tills,

I went and peeked late last night, but was too pooped to post.
I LOVE seclusion! Your place is just a little "secret garden"! Like I said.. I LOVE Poulsbo. Every so often we hit the "Heirloom Fabrics" store in your area. I just love the entire little down town! Just like to walk the street and check out the goodies.

You have created a little heaven for yourself!

Hugs and poof*

I just have to break in here.

My last patient has just left. I am officially, 100%, off the clock!!! It is holiday time. Just holiday time. NO WORKWORK. I'm done for 3 whole weeks - not coming back until the 1st of September. Oh, good. Done. Finish. Finito. and any other words you can come up with.

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Congrats Laurie. Hope you have a grand three weeks. My DB said he thought that was funny about the chippy and he could have some fun with it. He also wanted to ask you if you knew of any reliable parts places where he can get things for the 1960 Austin Healy Sprite he just bought. He just shipped it home to Anchorage today. Web sites?

Eugene, OR

If you like the chippy, you should have seen a French friend of mine after her teen age son excused himself to go take a douche. Now that was funny!! After she explained that the english term didn't mean shower, he was so red you could have used him for a stop light.. LOL

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Now that is funny, poor kid.

Laurie I hope you have a wonderful, lazy, restful and a whole bunch of words for things in that category I have forgot the words for, as I don't know them anymore. LOL But really Enjoy it. And Ha I bet you last a week, before you go running around with the Barro and tearing up half the place.

And chippy, also means Fish & Chips, Google it. Its true LOL

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

Willow, glad your brother enjoyed it and hope he enjoys his sprite. I just gave our neighbour a quick call, (he is a collector) and he gave me this http://www.ahspares.co.uk/ Hope that is of help.

And, tills, right again.

Cliff Dweller, WA(Zone 8b)

LOL...over hereeeeeeee........ a chippy can mean a fall morning - "A chippy morning". It's a combo of chilly and nippy....

(Judi)Portland, OR

Laurie enjoy your time off and Tills is probably right - the call of the dirt and garden tools will be too strong to resist.......

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

You are both greatly deserving of upcoming vacations. May they be really good ones.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Thanks Holly, does it show LOL

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

I just know how hard you work.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Your so sweet, can't wait till round up. Then I finally get to meet you.

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

It'll be a blast! I'm trying to get all the plant starts I have offered rounded up and labeled for people, and looking for door prize items. Not sure what to bring for that. The food part is no problem (snicker), as I am taking zucchini bread to every potluck I go to. People are lucky I don't stash large zukes in their cars while they are inside enjoying the meal.

Eugene, OR

LOL...people here are stashing cucumbers!!

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

Mmmmm... zucchini. Love it sauteed with garlic and sprinkled with parmesan. *drool* Zucchini bread is awesome, too!

Really need to make a veggie bed one of these days...

Eugene, OR

Same with me pony, sauteed or in bread........yum

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

Okay, now I'm hungry. LOL!

Eugene, OR

LOL!! I need some zucchini!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I'll send you some. LOL

Sliced thinly and layered in pan, with onion if you like. Cover. When almost finished layer thinly sliced tomatoe, sprinkle with cheese and top with a beaten egg or two. It kinda becomes a quichey, eggy thing that you can slice like a pie. MMMMM.....

(Judi)Portland, OR

Slice in half lengthwise, brush with olive oil, then grill on barbecue till browned and a little soft. Serve with a drizzle of good balsamic.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

1 Tbsp peanut oil in saute' pan on med-high heat, along with 2 cloves garlic, about 20 grinds of pepper & several shakes of nutmeg. Zukes sliced lengthwise 2x & then into 1/2" slices. Add to pan & saute' for 2 minutes - zukes should be hot & al dente'. Top with sliced tomatoes, shredded basil & freshly grated parmesan or asiago.
It's fast & easy. A very good dish with added sliced leftover steak or cooked chicken.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

These are great! Have some new ones to try now.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Holly>>>>>>
O' Yum, Please stash some in my car. I did not plant any veggies this year, as all the Irises took the veggie beds. I have not made any Bread in forever and I have a bread machine, Sad pup I am LOL

Got to try that Katye sounds good, I just need the Zuks. (Hopeing)

But my very most favorite of all the Squash, is Summer Squash looks like a UFO. Steamed with lots of butter, and lightly seasoned with whatever sounds good at the moment. Be surprised what you get.

Eugene, OR

Thanks for the recipes everyone!!

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

The recipes are great! We are in need of fresh ideas for how to eat them. Obviously I must bring stashable zucchini along to the roundup. Too bad I didn't plant any Patty Pan squash (the UFO type).

I did not check the zuke plant today, so who knows what will have grown by tomorrow. We got back late from town. Shopping in the big city is an all day ordeal, going off the south end of the island by Tacoma and on the north end at West Seattle. In the MacLendon Hardware parking lot, the truck wouldn't start, so I put back all the plants I'd picked out while we discussed towing options. (Pony, they had 4 inch size Kinnickinick for $2.49). We had a pallet load of soda ash in the back (1000 pounds) to deliver for a water system, so this was not going to be pretty. Thankfully, DH tried the ignition one more time, and we got juice. I wisely did not go back for the plants. Without turning off the engine, we made it all the way to the ferry dock. No problems then all the way home, even stopping to make the delivery. Something still needs to be fixed, but we got lucky.
