He is the only one bringing snack for that day he gets one day a month. And being the day before they get out for T-Day break I thought something Turkey.

Oh my, all the yummy recipes! That's what I like best about the holidays - lots of good food, new recipes to try, and lots of friends and family to serve it to.

It's been windy here. I'm glad I don't work outside. My birthday is Mar 19. I guess my favorites are whimsical fish.

Got plans for Thanksgiving Tina? Ours will be a very quiet one this year. Dinner, than watch football. The excitement will be the tv watching Kel snore..

Thanksgiving will be spent with my family. Just eating too much and watching each other sleep.

OK.....so as someone said to me late last night, when have I ever been one to hold back, so here goes....

As I was trying to catch up yesterday after work I was reading the thread form Tuesday. That was when Kthy told us all the unfortunate news about her daughter and SIL (which BTW-good for her daughter wanting to try it on her own)...

There were a couple of comments made about thank god that she found out now because he could've brought home HIV....to me that sounded like because he is gay that he would come in contact with this horrible infliction and bring it home.

If we want to talk about who is the #1 group of people in the US that have HIV is it prostitutes, not gay men-that is just wrong and really put my hackles up. Just because a man is with abother man doesn't mean they will ever contract any disease-promiscuous people that don't protect themselves or others spread disease, not people simply because their sexual orientation goes one way or another.

Look at the people in 3rd world contries-they have the highest mortality rate of this disease and it is mostly women and children because they don't have access to protection.

There are VERY few issues I am sensitive on and this is one of them.....I know that the comments were not made to offend, but, if good intentions were gold, we would all be very rich. I do not care about religion, politics, and the normal things people get upset about. I get upset about things like this and when I hear of someone being hurt in any way that is too weak or unable to stand up for themselves.

So this is why I was so upset yesterday, I am glad I waited til this am to post, if I had done it yesterday when I was upset, I think that I would've not been very nice......

Stacey, I am sorry we hav upset you, but speaking as a mother I am going o ask my daughter o get herself and the baby tested for HIV. I would ask her to do the same if he had been with another woman.

My gay SIL is being a real tic-turd. He didn't make my daughters car payment last week, and said he did.
I had too wire her money yesterday so she didn't lose her car. If he wants to be gay, so be it,but he still should live up to his responsibilities.

Kathy-I would also ask her to get checked because he was being promiscuous for all diseases....I have always told my husband that if that was something he wanted to do, to be a man, up front because I didn't want to catch anything....I can't beleive he would do that about the car payment knowing that she is caring for THEIR daughter!! Turd is the nice word!!

ROFLMBO!!! Yeah right!!!

So-I am so frekin mad!!! My "boss" was supposed to come back to work from her maternity leave on Monday-she never came in, then on Tuesday she came in(left for 2 hrs for Dr's appt) and worked, then yesterday, she came in late, and left early, today she called off (we have a sales meeting here for our office today!!!), and yesterday she informed us that since her daycare isn't open, she has to take the day B4 and after Thanksgiving off, the day B4 & after Xmas off, that whole week after Xmas off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was just off for 12 weeks!!!!!! I knew this was going to happen!!! So esentially the other gal and I get the shaft and will not be able to get any time off for the holidays because apparatly she is the only one that has a family!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry-I am soooo mad!!! It is bad enough I want to cry everyday when I come in, that my anxiety about having to drive through bad weather keeps me up all night, but then the fact that we are AGAIN having to suffer with our quality of life so she can have one....

Stacey, did you request leave before now, If so, I would just take it off, and see what happens?

Just a greeting cause I'm taking off now, got to bring my oldest dog to the vet! TTL!!

When I tried to request it, I asked the other girl here to switch me weekends and she wouldn't-I have switched her several times this summer and asked her to switch me the weekend after Xmas for the weekend after New Years-my mom is coming up from GA to stay from 11/26-11/30...haven't seen her since last Xmas...when it comes to the weekends, we have to switch, we can't just put in a request-and if we do put in a request it is exaclty that-a request-you are not guaranteed to have it off w/o permission from your boss...

Let's hope you can get out of there soon. Yes, you knew all of that was going to happen as she thinks of no one but herself. My problem is why your upper management lets her get by with it. Obviously she has a special "in" someplace.
