The Cardinals must be running out of natural food as they have returned to the yard for seed.
Here is a female.
Daily Pics Vol. 154
Wow Rose, what a lovely collection!
Dave, Pelle and Rose, your photos just floored me. WOW! They're so reach-out-and-touch me looking. I've never even heard of a dickcissel!
Deb, those wrens are so hard to get. Love it.
Nanny, you got the yellow-bellied sapsucker photo that I missed yesterday! I was happy to see one really.
Margaret, Ibis are so cool!
Burn, you do have the fanciest bird feeders in town!
This is my lame Blue Jay. The hole in his chest is healing nicely. It just looks like a dark patch in this photo. He's getting used to being one-legged too. For a while, he was getting pretty thin, but he's fattened up.
Thanks Marna, Elphaba and Pelle! The Dickcissel was a lovely surprise!
Elphaba...I am so glad to see that the Blue Jay is improving...it is just heartwrenching to see a bird that has been injured!
Pelle...Gorgeous shots of the TT...they are just beautiful!
Lily...Your little bird looks like an Eastern Phoebe or some other type of flycatcher.
It does look like a phoebe or flycatcher.
Thank you Rose.
Thanks Dellrose and Pelletory, I'll try another pix tomorrow, they flew off somewhere for now. :-)
That's a gorgeous pic Margaret! I would frame that one.
I agree...that is a stunning shot Margaret! Definitely hang it on the wall!
ohh, shoot, too late for the photo contest on the honey eater!
Great pics! I love seeing your birds from the other side of the world, Margaret!
Wow jim thats a wild sight!
Margaret make a folder for Dave Phot Contest 2009 and stick that pic in there for next year!!
I have been gone all day so haven't been on since this morning...WOW you all have sooo topped yourselves!!!! They are all fabulous.
I have got to start watching closer to see if I am getting any Pine Siskins mixed in with all the Golfinch. I bet there have times lately that we have near a hundred birds out there!
Burn...nice pics and variety...will they stay the winter?
Jim...all I can say is Wow! I love Wild Turkeys!
Nanny...you probably do have Siskins but I have found them hard to spot if I'm not looking for them. I wonder if I had them last year and just didn't know it!
Here is another shot of the make-do feeder showing the Red-bellied Woodpecker and Dickcissel. The woodpecker flew off and continued to tuck seeds in the trunk of the willow tree and the Dickcissel continued to eat in peace!
Beautiful pics Rose!
