Nov.Bingo calls and chat #2

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

rats...if I'd have had those two....I'd only need ONE! No such luck, though!

Brownsville, KY(Zone 6a)

Wow, Nan, you're really close! Maybe tomorrow will be your lucky day.

Lin, I cannot imagine you ever being the shy type. Your wit, humor, helpfulness, and optimism shine though in all your postings.

I'm no where close to bingo, but hope someone gets it soon.

(Zone 1)

I really was very, very shy and quiet ... kinda came out of my shell when I was in my late 20's and then really just got a bit bolder and bolder with each passing year! LOL. I KNOW there are times when my DH wishes I was still that shy, little quiet thing he first married! ^_^

Cicada, you are not alone with where you stand in this game! LOL.

Wytheville, VA

this is my first bingo game. I have been enjoying everybody's antics & conversation.
I am surprised that no one has gotten bingo yet as so many plants have been called. Hearing how others are doing, having the list at the top of the thread, and posting who has what adds to the excitment. The pictures have been great. I keep shutting my eyes to all the beautiful gesneriads as I have enough trouble keeping my streps alive. they are tempting though! Never thought I could learn so much from a Bingo game! Whatever the outcome is, I already feel like a winner!

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

Hi Kivit,
I find the AV easier to keep than the streps, but the streps are worth the extra effort. Due to the bingo games I'm now trying to make room for some chiritas (hmm... this reminds me of making room for the streps) and episcias. I'm glad you're enjoying the game. I'm a special ed teacher and teach full time, working on a Master's degree so I don't get to post much, but I sure enjoy popping in on the games and forums - DG is my stress buster (although a nice glass of wine does fine, too!).

Good morning,Theres got to be more people getting close to bingo.10 calls left.Do you all want 5 calls today and tomorrow to get the game finished up? You all will have to pay attention and keep those typing fingers ready to YELL bingo!

Miss Lin sure does liven up the game with the chit chat. Thanks lin.^_^

Well thank you Lynn,it's been along time since someone told me I rock.LOL.LOL.

Ok on to the call

I don't do much posting either. I'm too busy reading and learnig all the posts on this forum. I'm a lurker also on the hoya, florida gardening, houseplant, caudiforms, cactus & suc. ete. I just love plants, any kind. My favorite is hoya, but now it's also gessies. Just looking at all these beautiful photos makes we want them all. I need another house just to keep them all. ^_^.
BYW, I'm still 4 away.

(Zone 1)

Taffy Joy is such a pretty little AV: http://www.avsa.org/Photographs/TaffyJoyLrg.jpg#http://../Photographs/TaffyJoyLrg.jpg%23

not popular with many of you though, only six of you had it on your card!

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

More calls, please!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

:-(

I would not object to more calls!

Jasper, AR(Zone 7a)

More calls is fine with me-- I was just about to whine since I have to go to into town-- but since I didn't need that one-- and I still have 5 to go-- I won't bingo today;)

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Ok. Got my list printed out, so I don't have to go back and check after the calls are made . . . can just scratch it off . . .

Bedford, VA(Zone 7a)

Feast or famine! Got 3 in a row then bang! stopped dead, LOL!

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

So you gals didn't know you rocked???? ^_^
The first time my thirty something nephew called his 60 something aunt "Dude",I almost lost it.(In all fairness,he was calling from a bar....LOL).

Lynn

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Yeah, I was called DUDE too...and it was not a positive experience! Really!!!!!

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

I didn't even know a woman could be a DUDE.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

Several of my nieces and nephews call me a 'real dude.' As far as I can tell its a term of acceptance or endearment. I noticed some of the students at ASU call each other 'dude' without regard to what sex they may be. I said something about the girls being 'dudettes' and was told that was just tacky and uncool. Hmmm.... Apparently I don't rock, although some of the kids think its just amazing that I am so old and go to school (I'm 54).

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Ready for another call?

12. AV Blue Sugar

http://www.avsa.org/Photographs/BlueSugarLrg.jpg#http://../Photographs/BlueSugarLrg.jpg#

I can't find any info on this one.Looks like it's a pretty little mini? Anyone with a updated first class program? Could you check for it please.

I never hard of a woman being called a dude.Last a knew men or boys was called that.I'm really behind times! LOL.Good for you allgr8dogs for going to school ^_^

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

OOH! If that's a mini--I want it! LOL....even though it's not on my list :-(
In my case the dude comment was NOT meant to be a term of endearment--quite the opposite. I did not realize it had such widespread use til now..

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

My DS calls me dude all the time. But I don't take it personal . . . he's only 5.

It is a pretty mini-looking plant, isn't it? I've googled and searched ebay . . . can't find anything about it. I wonder if maybe it's a vintage, and maybe out of circulation? I can't check FC until I get home, but I'm sure Gail or someone else will check for us.

Grand Forks, BC(Zone 5b)

I think it's just meant as a slang word for "man", "guy". Mostly for men, but I think some young people get in such a habit of using the salutation, it is often used for women too. I have often called my son or hubby "Dude" just in fun.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Jan, she is gorgeous.............tell me how to get her picture here.....don't I first have to add the photo to my pictures????????

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Nahunta, GA

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

I don't s'pose I could talk you into a 'new thread'??
(or is it too late for that?)
I'm still on dial-up, and it's taking this one a long time to load!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Nan......let me post this and then someone will start a new thread............

If you want to order streps on ebay..........check out the streps that lilriver sent me. It is in a 2" round squatty pot to show you how shallow the roots of streps really are.

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

I thought I was the only one on slow dial up.LOL.

Gail I was reading that the bigger streps love the pan pots because there nice and shallow.

Were moving here.
