Looks like @ ten of you liked that call!
Nov.Bingo calls and chat #2
Bout time you started getting it right! Keep up the good work! (I still need 8 :-( - sigh)
I'm one of the 11 or 12 that didn't, though . . :-(
I am 0 for the last 4 :(
Hi Jan and Lin and everybody.............I am loving this as much as you all! It is getting down to the nitty gritty pretty soon!
the HIGH here today is 28!
Not 30, or forty. Certainly not 80 something. We are sitting here with 1 heat pump out for which parts are ordered.
at least we have a fireplace!
Oh my goodness ... a HIGH of 28?!%! I can't even imagine! And, with only a fireplace for heat? I hope you have lots of firewood. I would be glued to the chair in front of the fireplace and probably sleep there too! Gosh, I hope your heat pump gets repaired soon!
Brrrr ... gives me chills just thinking of temp's that low! We are supposed to be 38 tonight and 36 tomorrow night .... WAY TOO COLD!
Forgot to say:
NAN ... Please call these cold temp's back! We really don't want them. I will sympathize with you and try and send you some sunshine if you just take back the cold! ^_^
We are used to still being in shorts, t-shirts and flip flops until sometimes after Christmas! Today I'm in Sweat Pants, Sweatshirt, Socks and Sneakers!
ooh...that is too cold for Florida right about now.....I take them back!
what the heck...they're here anyway! (Ü)
No more good calls 'til tomorrow...gotta go to my other job!
Yeh, Take back the cold weather. We don;t want those oranges to freeze again this year.LOL.
Nan, I do know what your going though with the cold.I lived in Janesville,Wi. for 2 years.I don't think the wind off the lakes ever stopped in those years. But man oh man the yard sales in that town were unbelievable.LOL
Hi ya Gail,Glad to see your back home! ^_^
One more call
10. Episcia Star of Bethlehem
http://www.streptocarpus-info.com/Episcia/tables.html
0 for the last 5 :P
^_^
Oh, now that is one pretty Episcia! Here's another beautiful picture of that one at Rob's Violets: http://www.robsviolet.com/episcia%20Star%20of%20Bethlehem.htm

What a beautiful plant!! Besides AF and micro mini sinningias,I have always loved Episcias. My favorite years ago was Chocolate Soldier, but there were so many others I fell in love with, except (Big Gasp!!) Cleopatra.....I could never get over the pink, pink, foliage with orange flowers.Just wasn't one of my favorites.
I also loved the full size sinningias (Gloxinnias),but they really took up a ton of space, which I do not have!!! (sp?) on everything.I'm a little tired tonight ^_^.
Ibrabec.........I grew 13 kinds of sinningia speciosas from seed. They get giant! I can hardly wait to see everything crowded..........I gave away as many as I could because I put all the seed down at once. (how stupid of me)
Jack Evans Red.........I only got 2 seeds that germinated on one of my favorites...........either Jan or I will get the first bloom this year.
:-(
I hear ya!! I am 0 for the last 6 now-- beginning to wonder if I picked from the wrong list ;)
Wow, that is one beautiful AV. I'm stepping out and putting in a small double shelf with lighting so I can have more AV's. I'm going to have to try and get this one...
ooh...good calls....I knew you could do better! (Ü)
You lived in Janesville? When was that? How did you end up there, then in AL?
I'm a 'small town girl' through and through...I think I've been *through* Janesville ONCE and honestly that was enough for me....too big! I like my rural area much better!
Good Morning everyone! I love the first call today ... a very pretty violet indeed! Here's another photo close up of the blooms from the AVSA website: http://www.avsa.org/Photographs/FlowerChildLrg.jpg#http://../Photographs/FlowerChildLrg.jpg%23
Yaay! Keep 'em coming--I'm coming from behind in the home stretch! ^_^
:-P
Gail, That plant is a beauty.I also used to grow sinningia speciosa from seed,as well as a lot of other gessies. And they were huge, but so gorgeous!! In the later stages when I was running out of room,I switched to a lot of mini and semi-mini plants, including AVs,and they were so cute, but something about the standards will always draw my eyes.Your plants are so beautiful.
Lynn
I'm really surprised that with 22 plants already called, no one has gotten Bingo yet! Does it usually take this long for a card to be filled?
LOL Terri, yep ... usually it's right down to the wire when everyone is needing just two or three to get Bingo and sometimes a lot of us need the exact same one! We might get two Bingo's before the weekend is over but I have a feeling it will be next week sometime before all seven prizes have been claimed!
five more for me to yell bingo. :(
Here you go.

Hey Dimmer: Love your Flamingo! Hope you are feeling better, I know it's no fun when you don't feel up to par. So, you are burned out on that job, huh? I can't imagine doing that kind of work ... dangerous! And, man, it must be awful having to work out in that cold! So, are you going to be looking for another job? Hopefully we will see you around the garden more often!
Nobody has hollered Bingo yet ... a little too soon but we might possibly have one tomorrow! ^_^

Oh, I didn't know you had family in Florida. No, Dade City is quite a ways from where I live. I am in Daytona Beach, Northeast Central Florida. Tampa is about 3 hours west of here.
Wow! Sounds like you are going to be busy with all that traveling! Oooh, Cozumel should be wonderful in the winter time! http://www.islacozumel.com.mx/eng/dest-gallery.asp My DH is a Scuba diver and I bet he would love to go diving in those gorgeous waters!
I was going to give an update but just got to thinking, I should ask before posting an update on how the numbers look, how many are close to getting Bingo etc. I know I posted an update yesterday before asking. Hope I haven't upset anyone. Sometimes you just have to tell me to shut up! LOL, ^_^ I don't want to spoil the fun for anybody.
Hi Miss Pink Flamingo! LOL.Hope you feel better soon.We miss you around here.Sounds like your going to have a busy winter.
Isn't the sinn.china teacup cute.I wouldn't mind growing that one ^_^
One more call for tonight.
34. Chirita Keiko
http://www.gesneriads.ca/chirit16.htm
In my opinion,Linn, you could never spoil the fun (you just add to it every day ^_^).I know I'm not close to bingo, but I love to look at the beautiful pictures and read the chat. You and Jannich rock!! Can you still say that word after 60 ??? LOL
You bet you can...I say it all the time! ^_^
LOL, Lynn! I don't believe I've ever had anyone tell me that I rock! I will consider it a huge compliment! I have so much fun on this AV forum ... so many really great folks here! I know some folks play bingo with us but don't chat much ... they just sit back and quietly play the game and holler bingo if they win, which is fine. Now me, whether I am playing bingo or holding the cards, I have a big mouth and am always chatting! Gee ... I'd probably just chatter away even if no one answered me! My mom had an old saying that fits me sometimes, " I'm having an intelligent conversation with myself." LOL. Some find it hard to believe that I was a very quiet, shy child! I was very quiet and shy well into my 20's ... don't know what happened! I wasn't struck by lightning or anything ... at least not that I remember! ^_^ I just love people and really enjoying learning about others, and visiting.
Oh, I Love tonight's call. I have a few Chirita's but not Keiko! There are two photo's of this one in Plant Files: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/127996/
