I know Lenten Roses need shade, but I want to give some of mine to my daughter-in-law, who has a very sunny yard (new home with no trees yet). Would they possibly survive on one side of the house with only morning sun or would this be too much sun for them? They live in Zone 7 and she would like some winter blossoms.
Need Help on Lenten Roses
If they are put in full sun the soil needs to stay moist. Otherwise should do fine with morning sun.
I have had some that do really well on the North side of my house. I too do not have any shade, yet. They don't like full sun a whole lot. But as long as they do not get the hot sun, they are fine. I originally had mine on the east side. Then summer came and the leaves were starting to droop and burn by late morning. So I moved them to the north side and they did splendid.
Thanks for the advice. Since my yard is mostly shade, I had forgotten that these plants need shade and that is one of the reasons I planted them, other than getting winter blossoms. LOL
