I have some friends who place potted flowers in their garden because they aren't physically able to keep the bed weeded. They put down landscape fabric with some mulch on top to make it look nice and then they keep potted plants sitting in it. They do put out potted mums every fall. It always looks nice. I don't see why you couldn't do your mums that way too.

You sure can grow them in pots. I had one in a pot for about five years. Here we pinch them back until the first of July to make them very bushey.

Collections of pots are the easiest. In the UK you can grow all kinds of summer plants and then in winter fill them with pansy.

Yes you can grow your mums in pots or grow bags. I have one that has been in the same pot for 2 years, it will need to be
repotted this spring
