gardenpom - What a neat photo in #2! Love the blue bloom against the blue sky!
Helena - I had one bloom today that looks very similar to yours. Not sure what cultivar it is. It looks a little like Emma's Morning Storm cultivar or perhaps Star of India? http://davesgarden.com/community/blogs/i/36546/
Here is my bloom from a few days ago. Looks very similar to yours, Helena, doesn't it?

I love Bloom Booster! Had a lot of blooms today! Yay!
Purple Blizzard. Unfortunately, most of my vines (except Moonvine and Blue Star) have rust all over the leaves again. Once the rust starts, there is no combating it! (sigh) But it doesn't stop the vines from blooming or the seed pods from forming and ripening! Thank goodness! :-)
Gardenpom, love the 2nd photo with the light blue contrast.
Helena, very pretty bloom
Becky, your LYK x Kohkan is such a beauty, love the blizzard and the
star pattern.
Darren - My camera isn't that good especially for close-ups ... I have a cheap Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS. I bought it on clearance a year or so ago when they must've of been getting rid of old inventory. I like it for most of my photographs, but wished I had something better for macro photos. I have a good film camera that takes amazing photos, but buying and developing film is just too expensive these days. Thanks for asking ...
Thanks Jackie, Becky it does look like your bloom. Your blooms are really gorgeous Becky.
Thanks, Helena! Maybe Emma will post and let us know what our mystery bloom is! :-)
Becky thanks for the beautiful blooms today, I have been so impressed with the seedlings of the purple blizzrd i got from you and planted.. they are really going to town.. That blue star is a wonderful plant, I love how definate the "star" is..
Debra - Glad you are enjoying my blooms! I have to tell you though that your purple blizzards will not look like my blooms. They will have the more typical blizzard pattern without the large white star pattern throat. If I get seeds from the one I am currently growing, I will share a few with you.
I believe what I have above is probably Cocoa Chocolate. The weather turned cooler and this is what one of the new blooms looked like this morning. Definitely more of a milk chocolate color! Oops! When I lightened the photo because it was dark, the photo editor made it more rose color, but it is definitely a cocoa color in real life.

When the weather changes to cooler here, the bumble bees fall asleep on the blooms. This is a photo of one on a Mexican Sunflower bloom. I tickled it's bottom with the paint brush and it stuck up it's back leg to try to fend me off, but he is just too cold to really move much at all until the sun shines on him and warms his body up! This is a common sight during the colder months here in Florida. Rather humorous ...
awww, poor little buzzer.. don't you just love the pink in that Hanafubuki? I do!.. and also, I loved my tithonias, I had a big row of them out back, they were really tall and the mg vines I had even grew up the stalks, yet they kep blooming! ( tithonia mexican red sunflower) I just receved some yellow ones of the tithonia so I can't wait to see those ths spring!
I am waiting for my markers to arrive so I can start my seed pots up..
I just discovered that I have FINALLY had success getting seeds from my I. lobata vine! YAY! YEEHAW!!! I have been using the paint brush on them and have been seeing what looks like very teeny tiny pods forming. Well, today it is quite obvious that they are pods! I am sooooo excited! Success finally!!! Thanks Debra for all your photos and information from your experience growing your first this year! Very helpful to me! :-)
Becky, what a great picture of your lobata pods! Ron needs a good bunch of shots for plant files and I was unable to get a close up of the views he wanted. Maybe you can do this for him.. it is so exciting to watch them grow isn't it?
Becky - The seedpod photo you have posted could certainly be added to the PlantFiles
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1317/
Debra - you had asked me to hold off on entering the photos that you sent,so I did as you requested...otherwise,I would have entered some...just going with the flow here...
TTY,...
Ron
Ron, I still can't seem to get any other good shots of those seed pods, so IF you like what I sent go ahead, and maybe Becky can get some better ones as well! :)
Ron - I added my photo to PlantFiles. Always good to have reference photos. :-)
Lovely purple bloom Helena.
Becky, Hanafubuki is a beauty.
Darren - I understand that with the holidays, many electronics stores are having some really good sales on digital cameras. Keep an eye out for the sale ads. I love digital cameras. Best thing ever!!! I don't spend a fortune on film and developing anymore ... :-)
Also, my camera does take good close ups. My problem is that I can't hold the camera still when I push down the button to take the photo! LOL! It's operator error, not a camera error. I need a camera that compensates for movement ... lol!

Becky - A retractable monopod attached to the bottom of the camera will help with keeping the camera still...there are retractable monopods that are very flat (when attached to the bottom of the camera) and are fairly inexpensive...
TTY,...
Ron
Ron - I have two retractable tripods and one retractable monopod. But ... I still move the camera with the monopod. The best set-up for me is a tripod but they are a pain to try to use because of the country pavers and the mulch. It's hard to get them level and stable on that kind of ground. I've messed with all my tripods trying to figure it out. What I think I need to get is a short table-top tripod. Something smaller and lighter weight and not as tall. Time is an issue for me in the mornings, too. I have to be to work early, so it is often dark or just at sunrise when I am leaving. I don't like using the flash as it doesn't depict an accurate photo of the blooms and vines. Unfortunately, no funds in my budget right now for a different tripod ... but that would sure be sweet! :-)
gardenpom - As always ... lovely photos! :-) How are your vines holding up with these colder temps?
Shawna - Oooh! Beautiful photo of your I. nil vines! Are they growing along your backyard fence?
