Christmas shopping

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No, they're in NY so I get stuck with tax. The shipping can be $$, but is more reasonable for larger orders. They have lots of great stuff - garden and other.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Ah, so the trick is to browse around and add to my cart... LOL!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

It's that time of year! (And the economy needs you!)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Trust me, we are doing a good job of boosting the economy this holiday season. :-)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I got an email about this today.. wonder if it works

Thats kinda neat Allison. But what if it lies?? lol

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I thought of that too... or just outright wrong

How are you going to put a PC in the garden? That is kind of crazy.........

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

ask Kassia!

:)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I've seen other things like that. They read out directly - dry, okay and wet.

I received an order from Sierra and they threw in a coupon for 20% off the next THREE orders! Catch was it expires 12/15, but it's still nice.

Here is a present for you. I thought I have seen everything till now.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Now those do look nifty, Victor! Just the thing to get for one of my gardening friends.

That Easybloom looks cool, Allison, though too expensive for a gift on my tight budget.

LOL! Sherrie, that duct tape is hilarious! I should get that for my Alaskan sister. Love it! How about this one? http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?categoryId=33080&storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&feat=48772-ppxs&dds=y And they also have it in birch bark. Would go great in our bathroom, as we just put up birch bark print wallpaper.

That actually makes sense, for repairing camo tarps and similar gear.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

And the plaid is for what it says....Maine Guide. Those are the colors they use in wool jackets and pants, they also use plain green.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

So what's the birch bark one for? Repairing birch bark print wallpaper? Or how about repairing damage on your birch trees. He, hee!

Karen

South Hamilton, MA

Ordered present for DH--difficult because he came into the room while I was at it, but he was distracted beacause he was looking for something.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I didn't see the birch bark one....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

They make duct tape in all colors.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Those little snips would make a good stocking stuffer.
Allison, I'd wait for someone to post a review before buying it...check bizrate or amazon and see if anyone else carries it and has reviews for it.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh I am not buying that.... just never saw it before

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Karen I just ordered LL Bean duct tape for the men in the family and a few of my girlfriends.
Are you sure the birch bark was really that. There wasn't an enlargement available and the pattern looked like fish to me.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Actually, JoAnn, I'm not sure about the birch bark pattern, as there wasn't a larger version, and I noticed after the fact that it was an LLBean print, whatever that is. Could have been fish.

Hi Everyone!!!! no xtmas shopping this year... just cards... no energy to go shopping!!! and I am working both xtmas eve and xtmas day... so I will pass this year...

South Hamilton, MA

Nurses working holidays deserve a special thanks from everyone. It is tough but wonderful for a patient to have experienced, care giving people.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Yes, they do deserve our thanks. Though I work with special needs adults, I'm not working on Christmas, but many people in my company do work for the holidays, because the people we support need care no matter what day of the year it is. So thanks to you, Kassia, and everyone else who is working caring for people on the holidays.

Karen

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

My hats off to any care giver any time of year.
I have had several surgeries in the past five years and appreciated someone who knew about massage and how to care for a dressing, not to mention an extra tub of pudding when needed.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I always appreciate a massage.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Yes, I'm sure you do, Victor!

DH is working Christmas Day and Eve as well as New Year's Eve and Day, this year. Planes fly 365 days a year, and his schedule is M - F 4am - 9am, no holidays (unless he trades with someone else).

I have never been hospitalized on a holiday (knocking on wood), but I have done a lot of flying on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, etc. It's kind of fun in a way, but in another way you know that you and all the other strangers in the airport have no social life!

BTW, avoid Emergency Rooms on the Fourth of July. Halloween is not too bad. (Kids!)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I appreciate anyone in the health care field esp since I could never do that.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I have a healthy respect also as I have been in and out of hospitals with my Dad and son all my life. There are a handful of nurses and one or 2 doctors that I would of liked to have 5 minutes alone in a dark alley with.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

There are always a few rottin apples in the barrel but for the most part They are truely wonderful people.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

SHOPPERS: zazzle.com, where you get your DG Tshirts, is having $5 off Tshirts (ends today) and $1 shipping if you buy over a certain amount. The shipping is usually what gets me with them.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Sweet! Maybe it's time to get something other than my gray one (which I've been considering tye-dying).

I seem to recall people saying these shirts ran small... I'd ordinarily take a men's XL for the nice loose fit I like... should I order a 2X, or would I end up with a nightie?

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I don't remember . . . Jill, I really don't. I can check what size mine is, if you want.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Also 2X is a couple bucks more.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Right... but I'd happily spend a couple extra bucks for a comfy shirt! If you get a chance to check, Carrie, I'd appreciate it (especially if you got a regular men's T-shirt... I liked a couple of the women's shirt styles, but not enough to pay such a premium for them). Thanks!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

No, I got a woman's style, sorry. DH got a shirt from them and has no recollection of it being small or large compared to other shirts.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

OK, thanks!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm going to try it.
I really am built like an amazon woman and have worn a womans 2X but styles lately have not pleased me so I will go to a mand 2X for the room and length.
I converth the rib neck by cutting off the neckband and rolling it under and stitching it ,maked a nice scooped neck for me.
This is me and another DG'r
I'm in the pink shirt
