Debra, you can watch them in your garden, You just need to start them in the protective little cage first.
Glad you like the butterfly house. My granddaughter raised some last year, and released them in my garden, and it was truely such a precious moment to wath her let them go!
And they do multiply, I had them all summer long.

BJ, must be that part of the country...your recipe is the same as my Gran and my daddy always made!! Any time we (or He) were under the weather one or the other of them would make that potato soup (NO PEAS)....

smack!!! okay jaye....i had it coming...just couldn't resist!

Pooh is adorable.....just need to learn, as does my Cat, that do not work well as furry footballs!

Diet...... the See Food Diet....I see food and I eat it.....usually more than I should!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

LK the potatoes are not a problem...they are actually very healthy and low fat....it is all the junk we pile on them that is the problem!! RAisin' my hand....and pass the buttah please!!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Debra... I understand completely... and that's what I'd do... wait till spring when you have blooms for them, and can enjoy them more... I don't guess that certificate has a date on it, does it?

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Debra definitely wait until you let them go outside....I don't think that will hurt any of our feelings!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL

1 large baked potato
butter
lots of bacon bits
grated cheese
sour cream
salt and pepper to taste, and that is a good dinner right there!
Like a pizza, all the food groups in one place!

LOL... Trisha... yep... I love a dollop of buttah in my potato soup too... and I really like to eat it with French Bread... dipping it is really really good.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I have some red tators and sweet tators to use up, to make a long story short they were left and i rescued them or the rodents would have them and move in. So now i need to make something of them and the grandson will NOT even look at them let alone eat them.

Yes I wear a 5 most things I like (added) to wear a bigger size, want to be the ultimate comfy.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

PASS THE TATER SOUP, please

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

butter and sour cream on mine please oh gosh dont forget the cheese

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I have managed to do a lot of the "healthy" changes to my diet....completely giving up my butter is NOT one of them!!!! Well I got to head out to get Laura, catch up with you later....don't get too far ahead!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I dont have any leeks let alone onions so I cant make tator soup ughhhhhhhhhhhhh

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Yea! In the spring take pictures of raising your butterflies, Debra. I haven't seen any of those kind of cats in my yard so far. I've seen the butterflies but not the cats and chrystalis. Happy Birthday and best wishes for a wonderful stress free day now and everyday forward, especially on your cake day!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I HAVE garlic. yummy. Guess what is for me for dinner, DGS will have PBJ

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

We've always added evaporated milk to our potatoe soup and onions, chives and parsley. Great on a cold day. I've even added oysters to mine to make an oyster stew too for a change up..

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i LOVE oysters

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

You and me both! In stew, on the half shell, oysters broiled with parmesean cheese, oysters Rockafellow, and the list continues.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

on the half shell is my favorite

Somebody sez OYSTERS?? O my!! Another favorite food!
And by the way, if you could find Yukon Gold potatoes, use them. They taste "butterier"!
I try to sub on a lot of stuffs, watching my waistline, but I never sub butter. No M'am, like Julia Child, it's just one of those things that cannot be substituted!
Yummmy, love chives on top. Guess what I'll be doing tomorrow.. shame on you LK :D
Why when it's warm, it's called potato soup, and when it's cold, it takes that French name "Vychissoise"?
Yeah Debra, get them at a time when it's better for the b'flies.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Here LK.. don't say we don't love ya!

General Discussion & Chat area in the Back Porch??
Cause you's have an * too by your name..

Curiousity Killed The Cat
Satisfaction Brought Him Back...

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

My dad made me eat a raw oyster once... he said "just one"... and that was the last one I ever had... I also can't stand to watch when Don has them in a restaurant... YUCK !!!! I do like those smoked ones in a can though, with crackers.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

what does the * mean on a thread

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lilsista-Phyllis, we've always been here, might be different rooms, but same building and same furniture..

Oh oh!! THat reminds me, got to bring Marion's sofa indoors, it's still swinging outside!

I love smoked too, BJ.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

No, Lilsista-Phyllis. Before I started this thread, I had asked them first whether this is the right place.
We're still here.....

(Phyllis) Osceola, PA(Zone 5b)

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Hi...I beleive the astricks next to the name thread mean that they are no longer open to unsubscribers...Only those who pay subscribtion are allowed to read threads with Astricks...It doesn't mean anything bad.
They might have moved it to General discussion for just a home base, don't know where it was before. So be calm and happy chatting in your new home space!

Hi Sistahs!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks Judy, that's what I thought too, just for subscribers.
Yeah, I went next door to welcome them.
We need to reassure them that they soon will like their new location ;)

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

it is the black * not the red one.

Glenview, IL

Thats ok...Red means there are posts that have not been read.

when they are black that means no new posts since you last read.
So everyone is different...Depending on how many threads you read in so many different rooms.

P.S. your welcome, glad to help!
