Taking care of impatiens in a zone where they don't freeze

I am from IL where impatiens die in the fall. I'm now living where it never freezes and the impatiens I planted in the spring still look good, but they are getting so big that I was wondering if they can be trimmed back or something. Anyone know? Thank you.

Yes, you can trim them. They come back even more beautiful.
