...grow in the northeast during late fall/early winter outside. I am a zone 5b. Thanks
Are there any vegetables that can.....
Having grown up in cold country, I would have to say no. If I remember, there are some root crops than can be left in ground but none that will actually grow during the cold, dark days of fall/winter. Sorry...
Thats ok. Til next spring then! Thanks Pod. -Brit
Ahhh, but you have a nice long winter to stay in and read and plan and anticipate and start shopping for seeds and start the seedlings and... LOL
Do you wintersow?
True, true, and I have done so. I have already planned and plotted and bought next year's seeds. I bought an older piece of property which has some lovely plantings and I am trying to revive the land because it was well-neglected when I bought it. So that has been rewarding. I bought two miniature greenhouses where I am doing propagation of various cuttings and growing rose of sharon seedlings which are doing quite well by the way! All 3 varieties and 60 seedlings! (I am a little obsessed here!) I am researching into heather species and trying to propagate those (not doing so well). I DO have winter heather which is beginning to bloom and will continue blooming through May so that is exciting and new for me. I don't know what wintersowing means. I am a real novice. What is it? Here is my burning bush-not a veg but I just thought it looked nice and autumnal! :)
Here seeing as I don't think you can access the DG forum on Wintersowing.... read up on this link. It's great fun. http://wintersown.org/ I'm off to work for now.
Thanks Pod. Have fun :)
