Daily Pics No. 149
Great pics Rose! I love that last shot showing the yellow under the Pine Siskens wing!
Hi everyone, nice to receive your replies. Beautiful day here in Coffs Harbour (north coast of NSW Australia) expecting 29 deg celsius today. I think it is fall over your way? We get The View and Ellen shows here and they are all saying don't forget to vote!! Good Luck. Anyway here is a pic for today.
One of our fishing spots.
Bye for now Hel
Enjoying everyone's pics.
Linth: Thank for the explanation about the eagles and herons. If I were an experienced
heron, I'd let the eagle have the fish, too. :)
Dellrose: Thanks. Our Cardinals come to the feeder year round. Must be there "Meet and Greet"
spot. Love the pic of the two little girl Bluebirds in the evening (?) light.
Nanny: I never get tired of Cedar Waxwings. We rarely see them before January.
(and Me 4 re/the Merlin.)

Hel:
We cross-posted. Forgot to say "wow" about that amazing photo you posted at the end of the previous thread! (and the fishing there must be very good indeed, judging by the popularity of the spot).
Deb
Hel..nice pic of the fishing spot. That's quite a variety of birds there.
I love those King Parrots hel.
Nice Junco adel!
hel, love the pics of the King Parrots and all the Aussuie creatures. Keep education us. Lee
hel, brush turkey. New to me. We have the American wild turkeys that are very reclusive and to see on let alone a flock is a treat. Ate they hunted as ours are? Lee
Turkey flocks are a treat to see the first time. The next hundred times they dig up the garden by taking dust baths.
That Brush Turkey Looks huge!!
What fantastic photos everyone. Nanny, I was thinking about you this afternoon as I was trying to get a shot of some tiny little bird flitting in and out of fine twigs, leaves and branches and have an idea of how difficult it can be.
How nice to see a fellow Aussie posting the gorgeous birds from the east coast. Welcome, Hel. It looks like you live in a magical place. I've seen the King Parrots at my sister's place in Canberra. Lucky you. I've been telling the DG birdwatchers about the Rainbow Lorikeets and what a menace they are in Western Australia because of their bullying behaviour. It would be interesting to hear your take on them.
I went to a really large wetland with DH this afternoon before heading to the Osprey's nest. Lake Herdsman is about 7 km north of where we are and is HUGE and we saw only a small portion of it. This is a White Ibis coming in for a landing. Fantastic place - can't wait for my next days off to get out there again. I'm going to start a new thread with some of the pictures I took today. It was amazing.
Wonderful pics Margaret,nanny and burn!
Last night I read on the state listserv that their considering putting Monk parakeets (Quakers) on the list as NJ birds!
Great shots duc! I would love to have Eagles around.
Nice pic nanny; can't believe I haven't seen any yet. I was just searching the yard with my binoculars but all I'm seeing is White-throated Sparrows on the ground.
Hey Nanny, the juncos should soon be here. They spend the winter here. How about there? They, too, are sweet birds. Congrats. on the pics of the Cedar Waxwings. Lee
Lee, yes the juncos stay here for the winter too. But I have not seen them here this early. These very well could be ones that will be coming your way soon!! Ours usually arrive in November.
I am on the lookout for White-crowned Sparrows here. Have seen lots of White-throated Sparrows too.
Granddaughter's are here this week..until friday afternoon for Fall Break. So not a whole lot of time for my usual routine.
I can't id a white-crowned one but can a white-throated. The latter stay the winter here. Such sweet little creatures. Lee ps what about pine siskins?
