Nanny, I was thinking about you this afternoon as I was trying to get a shot of some tiny little bird flitting in and out of fine twigs, leaves and branches and have an idea of how difficult it can be. How nice to see a fellow Aussie posting the gorgeous birds from the east coast. Welcome, Hel. It looks like you live in a magical place. I've seen the King Parrots at my sister's place in Canberra. Lucky you. I've been telling the DG birdwatchers about the Rainbow Lorikeets and what a menace they are in Western Australia because of their bullying behaviour. It would be interesting to hear your take on them. I went to a really large wetland with DH this afternoon before heading to the Osprey's nest. Lake Herdsman is about 7 km north of where we are and is HUGE and we saw only a small portion of it. This is a White Ibis coming in for a landing. Fantastic place - can't wait for my next days off to get out there again. I'm going to start a new thread with some of the pictures I took today. It was amazing. |
