I had the brilliant idea to try soups as the main dish for the RU. I'll bake some bread/breadsticks type stuff, and then we can add salads and desserts as usual. Maybe some cheese to go with? How does that sound? Let me know what you'd like to bring.
Kathleen
Note: looks like we have enough soup - now how about some salad, dessert, etc. ?
KaperC - bread, plates & bowls, plastic cutlery, coffee, water
wcgypsy - antipasta platter
TwinLakesChef - Red Bell Pepper Soup
SingingWolf - potato soup & corn bread
SoCal - salad
Kanita - lemon bars
quiltygirl - bean soup
Chuck & Loita - vegetable casserole (and maybe soup spoons)
JasperDale - dessert
drdon - something sweet
robcorreia - cheese
Samigal - chips and dip
DesertPirate - biscuits and jam
CrystalSpin and Blooms - hummus and chips
smhgarden - a surprise!

March Mini-Round Up - Food
I'll bring a soup . . . will have to think about what kind.
Thanks, TLC! I'm sure it will be great.
I just love trying different soups!
So do I - and the weather might be cool, so it will make them taste even better!
That's for sure. Let me know what else I can do to help Kathleen, I'm only a click away!
Thanks, Louise!
:-)
Wow, I found the food thread. I'm salivating. Think I have the transportation problem solved. I can't wait! : )
WIB,
SW
SW, I would have picked you up.
weegy:
You are so sweet! I wasn't worried about transporting me, but the soup! I don't want it spilling. LOL!
and a giggle too!
WIB,
SW
Well I would have picked you and your soup up!
Lol!!
What, is SW going to spill, too?
I will probably spill mine too, SW and I could spill ours together and create a new soup!
Hey, I won't be able to make this RU, but may I borrow your idea of the soups? That sounds like fun!
Sure wish you could be here, maggiemoo!
There is a crockpot on the market that has clamps on the lid so nothing will spill. Would love to have one but the old one just won't die.
Freecycle it, Arlene. You deserve a new one and someone would be happy to have yours. :-)
Louise are you saying I will need a change of clothes for the round up? Since you know that soup will be sitting next to me :o)
TwinLakesChef:
I agree with KaperC. I deserve a new crock pot. Where do you get the kind with clamps? I've been planning on getting a new one anyway. Or using the infamous duct tape! LOL!
Thanks,
WIB!
SW
Someone here mentions Target. http://www0.epinions.com/review/Hamilton_Beach_33163_Stay_or_Go/content_283751124612
Yes Marie, you better bring your rain gear for the soup!
Aww, darnit Mary, wish you could be here.
Yup . . that's the one . . . looks like they thought of everything.
Sure does. Thanks KaperC!
WIB!
SW
I gotta get me one of those!! About all the cooking I do is for Pot Luck dinners....this would be an excellent way to transport the "goods". Thanks for the tip. Jo
:)
That Hamilton Beach 4 qt slow cooker "Lid with gasket secured by clips for spill resistant travel" is being offered here at a local department store for $ 17.99 (for seniors with a store card).
Think I'm gonna get it. (someone here enabled me) Haven't used their charge card in many years-actually cut it up years ago but I am pretty sure I still have an account with them. The sale is only today and tomorrow so I think I am going to order it.
I have a very old 6 qt one that is often too large for what I do these days.

You only save $2.00 for being old. LOL
WM has it in their ad this week for same price....
Ha! So it doesn't even pay to be old. LOL
After talking with Kathleen today, I realized that I hadn't posted on what I will be bringing. I think we have enough soups, so please put me down for a salad. I will have to think hard on what type will go good with nice warm soups. :-)
I had the honor of seeing Kathleens gardens and property today and she has a perfect arena for this gathering. I loved what John and her have done so far and can see her gardens for the future. Great job so far guys.
See you all real soon.
Donna
Thanks for the kind words, sweet lady. Got you down for a salad.
Kathleen, do you want to put the Red Bell Pepper Soup up there by my name?
I can bring lemon bars.
Yummy!
Double Yummy!
WIB,
SW
Look forward to seeing you Kanita!
I look forward to seeing everyone!
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone! ^_^
WIB,
SW
Hi! How about for the mini-RU if my wife and I bring plastic spoons and forks? Also, a cooked vegetable casserole.
Thanks,
Chuck and Loida
