I think this is called brazilian verbena. Thought it was finished blooming long ago.

LOL on the time change... was it cloudy? Glad to see the Damiania did well in spite of the mishap. Pretty blooms!

I so enjoy seeing all your pics. They're all just lovely. My garden is still a work in progress. The back is pretty close to the "I'm happy with it" stage, but not quite there yet. The front seems to be a never ending story. I've just found out what's wrong with my sickly looking pines and they all have pine bark beetles. That means 6 good sized trees have to come out. We've already had to take out two huge ash trees a couple of years ago. This will make it official, there's not one thing left inside or outside this house that hasn't had to be replaced after we moved in. Only positive to that is you get the garden they way you want it!

Here's a few of the things that are doing best in my garden now. Tons of butterflies and bees on everything.

Mexican Flame Vine, butterflies love it better than any other plant in my garden. The vine is beside an in-ground Plumeria and Hamelia Patens.

You can't really tell because of the lighting, but the duranta in the corner and the coral vine behind the bench and mermaid are in full bloom and covered in bees and butterflies.

I love your beautiful blooms Crowelli! They make me think summer is still here. 8 )

Probably overused but I love the angelwings for their willing, cheery blooms.

Pod, angel wings are one of my favorites too. I seem to have them everywhere because when I trim them, I stick the cuttings in here and there and they almost always take root. I have one in ground in the front and a lady actually stopped to ask me what that "tree" was. When I told her what it was, she said no, the tree. We walked over to it and I said, yep, it's a begonia. That one really likes it's spot. It's 5 feet tall and about 3 to 4 feet across.

I can only imagine an angelwing "tree"! I love it. Do they overwinter in ground for you?

Fancyflea ~ I like the Confederate roses. They are reaching for the skies. Such pretty blooms they share in the Fall!

Wharton, TX(Zone 9a)

Confederate roses!!! I couldn't think of the name and they took my breath away. They were old, old and about 25 ft. tall. I was driving down the road and say them against a beautiful sky and turned the car around to photograph them.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

They are delightful even tho they bloom for such a short time.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Lovely pics. That is a very pretty MG.Does it reseed ?

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Pod, my "tree" angel wing overwinters in the ground. I have lots of them in pots around the pool and they stay out all winter too. This past winter, I didn't even bring in the plumeria, and even though we had a couple of freezes, they made it just fine. I lost my confederate rose this year to fire blight. It was huge. Luckily I've given away rooted cuttings to dozens of people and I can get a new start of it.

Everyone's blooms are gorgeous. I love seeing what is working well for everyone. I'm rapidly approaching the gardening method of "if it can't make it without being babied, it dies". I just can't wag all the pots in and out and spray and coddle tempermental plants any more. Just too much trouble. I may wind up with an angle wing "forest", because they're sure no trouble and bloom nearly year round for me.

Wharton, TX(Zone 9a)

bananna, the MG's are not at my house but I did see seeds forming on them. Maybe I'll ask the owner if I could have some. I think they just reseed themselves each year.

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

crowellli, I bought 4 of the "Mexican Flame Vine" plants, and NONE of them bloomed this year, and some were 6 feet tall!!! What happened??? Do they not bloom the first year?

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Connie_W, are they receiving a lot of direct sunlight? Mine did not bloom until I moved it to where it gets a lot of sun.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

All of the different types of butterflies love the Mexican Flame Vine blooms' nectar and are thankful they can sip some as they migrate. We have a lot of butterflies here now. :o) I had been waiting a long time for them to visit.

What a beautiful photo! How fun to be on the butterfly migration path.

NE Medina Co., TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, after such a year in which few butterflies were around, to see such numbers in fall is amazing! We even spotted a Malachite a couple times last week...flew away too soon for a photo-op each time! That's a new one for me. A friend in Selma saw a Julia. But it's the number of butterflies that's most exciting. They can't stay away from the White Mistflower! Out there in the wild, there's been practically nothing blooming because of the drought, so I'm happy they can come here.

htop, but sure to enter that photo in next year's photo contest!!! It's fantastic!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

podster and Connie_W, thaniks. Linda, my white mistflower is in too much shade I think because it does not have as many blooms as yours. Wow, look at all the butterflies on yours. The butterflies are mostly visiting the salvia, cosmos, Mexican flame vine, butterfly weed and the red powder puff. I need to pull the cosmos so I can plant my cool weather annuals; however, the butterflies are enjoying them sooo much, I can't bring myself to do it.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

I am amazed at the cosmos. Mine took two hours of 32 and foliage/blooms still look good. Tough and pretty plants.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Yep, they are tough guys and constantly blooming. I love to see them backlit by morning and afternoon sunlight.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Connie, sorry about not answering sooner, but I've just now seen your post. Mine bloomed like crazy from the first time planted. They withstood last winter without any problem. In fact, they did too well. I asked DH to trim them back some since they were covering some of my iris. Next thing I knew, I looked out and he had given them a crew cut. He whacked the whole thing down to about a foot tall. It didn't seem to hurt it a bit. It's back covering the fence and a sold mass of orange blooms. It's the best plant I have for attracting butterflies and the blooms smell sooo good. If yours is getting enough sun and you don't think that's the problem, throw a handful of Ozmocote on it next August and stand back.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Gorgeous blooms everyone! I sure do miss you guys! I have a little bit of time because we slowed down due to the up coming holiday, so I thought I'd pop in and post a few pics I took last weekend.
