We recently put new sod down in our backyard. During the process I noticed white moldy spots on the soil under the old grass. I ignored it. Now I'm finding the white moldy spots on the edge of my flower beds. It's definitely on top of the soil and not the mulch. I'm finding it in shady areas and sunny areas. The areas are about the size of a golf ball. I don't believe it's from too much water. I live in Austin TX and we are in a serious drought right now. I water the grass and beds only once a week. Any ideas?
Thanks!
What is the mold on my soil?
it looks like a tyrp of slim mold, according to the picture it looks like it's on mulch. If so, thenit's just mold that occurs after tehmulch starts to breakdown, it's harmless. The pictuer looks like mulch and not soil.
