hi i got this anthurium a couple months ago and there are splits in the leaves . can you all help me figuure out what is causing that ? thanks
hi i have cracks in my Anthurium leaves .
It looks like physical damage...from the plant being bumped against, brushed against, etc...
It may be from something that happened when you brought the plant home, (or if it was shipped to you) or even just before you purchased it.
It often takes this type of damage several weeks to 'show itself'.
hi nan , thanks . i was afraid it was mites so i sprayed it with a neem type spray
Hi to you, too, iris28!
Did you see any evidence of mites?
The neem shouldn't hurt, even if it is physical damage.....good preventative measure!
I'm curious as to what others think.
Hi ya Nan! And ... Welcome Iris28.
My first impression is physical damage also! I have had plants with large leaves like that get bent from something shoved up against them (usually other plants) and the damage looks just like that ... the leaves get little cracks that sometimes spread.
