Passionflowers

Can anybody tell me if there is such a thing as an ORANGE passionflower.I think not but a customer at my plant stall tells me her friend had one (dead now of course!)and is adamant it was an orange passionflower.Ye or no,who knows out there???? Tecoma

There are definitely ones that are reddish, and I could see that some of them might appear orange. But there's also definitely a possibility that she was confusing it with something else, hard to say without seeing a picture of the plant. Here are the passies in Plant Files, if you scroll through you'll see that there are some that could potentially be described as orange http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/adv_search.php?searcher%5Bcommon%5D=&searcher%5Bfamily%5D=&searcher%5Bgenus%5D=passiflora&searcher%5Bspecies%5D=&searcher%5Bcultivar%5D=&searcher%5Bhybridizer%5D=&searcher%5Bgrex%5D=&search_prefs%5Bblank_cultivar%5D=&search_prefs%5Bsort_by%5D=rating&images_prefs=with&Search=Search

Hi ecrane3,thanks for your reply.I think, like you, that she is confusing it with something else.It was bought from a garden centre and she was told it was a passionflower so believes it to be true!As itīs hard to find an ordinary, bog standard passionflower in a garden centre here in this region of Spain,I canīt believe this particular place was selling a brand new cultivar !!! Regards, Tecoma
