Oh. I thought her responses to Gen Dusty just meant she was to YOUNG to remember Jack Benny and all that.
The Crazy Chicken Crew and Their Titles
Well, I'm too young (slightly) but I've seen more from Gen'rul's list than Moxy's. That's still not much. I stopped watching TV in JR high school.
I'm 39 so I don't know what I'm too young or old for, but glad to know I'm not the only pop culture challenged one. (I just typed poop culture challenged....been cleaning the coop!)
Yep. I think you missed that line up on radio and tv by 25 or 30 years.
I'm a True 70s Girl hip hugger bell bottoms, platform shoe's, earth shoe's , Bee Gee's, Hard Rock ,Slow Gin , Peter Frampton, Band Stand, Z 28s , Trans Ams , Drag race's on country roads and i did not Disco that was for the preps.
Oh! I love the Bee Gees!
Im closet cleaning and just found a stash of platform sandals that I wore when I was teaching. How did I ever walk on them?
dang ya all make me feel like a kid,lol i don't know most of those shows listed. i'm 31, am i the youngest in the chook crew?? i hope not,lol i don't wanna be the baby of the crew, pouts.... i'll be denounced down to baby fluff, rotfl..
QFFF silkie
I still have my favorite ring i wore on my middle finger back then it was the coolest and it was envied by many. Today it's HID in my closet in a box and only my husband has seen it.
It's a big silver ring flat on top like a signet ring and a certain leaf inlaid on it in turquoise and when i look at it today i think i was a bad girl.
HMM....... I wonder what that leaf looks like. Well, as you are diggin out old shoes and rings and (probably now yearbooks to see what we did wear..lol) grab yourself a cuppa and enjoy the banana bread - fresh out of the oven. Already had my piece. Thank you very much.
I am hoping the cable TV that we get will be able to give us a whole bigger selection of things to watch, cuz there isn't a whole lot on regular TV that is worth its weight in gold. My mom is on hospice care, so watches a lot of TV. Her eyesight isn't good enough to read so we are kinda stuck. I am looking forward to the History Channel and HGTV. If it was just DH and me, we would only have a set for movies on DVD. When the kids were growing up, the set would "break" periodically.
Silkie,
I'll be 30 in February and Patchouli is already 30, I believe. So you're not the baby... I am... as always!
If your cable is the same as my cable I wouldn't expect too much. I mostly watch TCM - turner classic movies. Only a few channels are worth wathcing.
And there are a lot of technical issues also -- some weeks there is so much intereference you can't see anything.
I can not hear TV dissed and silently stand by. You should all be ashamed of yourselves!
Go to your rooms--and watch TV!
lol
Gee Harmony, did that leaf have 5 distinct leaflets to it?
I like the TV for DVD watching. I also watch some HGTV and sometimes DIY network. Very occasionally the Food Network. And BBC America. :-)
That is too funny Gloria. Perhaps you were floating in those platform shoes? I was a child of the sixties. Very intense times.
I have been reconnoitering the streets of Atlanta today. Apparently chickens are limited to Costco, Whole Foods, Trader Joes and the like. Atlanta chickens don't have interesting names like the ones here, don't lay pretty colored eggs and have no feet at all (let alone ones with feathers). I'm restocking my mess kit and heading back to the woods. Done chicken checkin' here. Time to check out (with permission of course).
Laurel
Permission granted. Chickens don't tend to hang out in large cities. Commander Moxy is envious of your Whole Foods. Grumble...
We have two known pockets of chicken culture in the midst of the city. They are pop culture town centers. The city has turned a pecked eye to Cabbage Town and another spot (Waterworks), dead center in the city. Waterworks is the "decorator" center of the city and chickens with their handsome roos are running around the parking lots and yards of the designer fabric and custom furniture businesses. Hopefully the valet parking attendants are not driving over too many eggs. I wish I knew what kind of chickens they are. Some are Rhode Island Reds and others are black and slightly barred, but smaller than Barred Rocks. I just don't know much about chickens. I'll take photos next time.
WOW you folks have been really chatty since I last dropped in!
Possibly dominiques or cuckoo marans, Laurel!
Chief Between - should we shut up? Is that your command? Or permission to keep chattering...?
Sounds cuckoo to me....
Oh, excuse me, Moxon, I didn't see you there!
Listen here Major Catscan, that sort of insolence will not be tolerated! You California people think you can just walk all over us little Iowa people, but no, that is not how it is. We will send our raging Iowa pigs after you and they will trample you and steal your chickens and bring them back to Iowa on their backs. We have our ways....
What is your report on the ceramic armadillo?
The ring was a ruse and just to impress thats all it was in those days you had to appear to be a certain way i was always looking for something cool and never hung out with the extreme people my group was more just bein teens there was alot of things to do and we were just like the kids on that 70s show i watch it and think hey i lived that.
The ceramic armadillo levitated and floated across the bedroom last night....there is a strange scratching sound coming from inside....but other than that everything seems fine.
Heavens above! Where did it go in its levitational journey? Any hostility noted?
Yeah but, ..... I am the Eldest!!!
And I am the Canadianest. :-)
Well I'm 48 and where do's that put me i'm not elder but i'm not a young one either.
You're as young as you feel, and your right in the middle, which is a great place to be!
My picturesque mind at work i could see me and Claire dancin to that song..."Stuck in the middle with you"
Yes i'm stuck in the middle with you and i'm wonderin what is i should do.........Clowns to left of me jokers to the right here i'am stuck in the middle with you.........

LOL Harmony, you already said what we should do - keep on dancin'
I would give anything to have you all in the same room and just watch and listen!
we will send out raging Iowa pigs . . . (to California).
I still remember coming to work at Vandenberg AFB. It was a foggy morning (always is on the California coast) and a group of airmen were gathered for revile standing at attention for roll call.
At that time they were charged by an Arkansas razorback - pigs imported to kill the rattlesnakes at Vandenberg.
They barely got permission to fall out in time to save themselves from the charging pig.
Im sure Iowa pigs would be very effective, CMoxon!
Maybe we should make that Happen George!!!
A Southern Indiana central location would work!!!
which make the rest of us.. "clowns to the left... jokers to the right"
It's a song fran no offense to anyone i guess some have never heard this song.
I am afraid of clowns....but jokers are all right.
Catscan - time to go to the circus. But not the animal abusing kind.
Fran - as far as I can tell, we're pretty much all clowns and jokers in here, except for Catscan, because she's too serious to be either. :-)
