Does one need two plants of thunbergia alata to produce seeds?Mine has been flowering away here in southern Spain for over a year without any sign of producing seeds.
thunbergia alata
I have tried researching into this and all that I have come up with are two things;
1) seeds are collected by gathering the dried out flower heads
2)many people on different garden sites have asked the same question as yours-their thunbergia's do not seem to be setting seed.
From my research it did not mention needing a male/female duo for pollinating. Sorry I could not find out more...maybe someone else around here knows more and can help. Good luck!
Thanks Brit brighton.Does that nean you are a Brit who used to live in Brighton?
If you scroll down to question 6,this site may help you.

Thankyou Ibrabec,that was fascinating and informative info.Will go and have a rummage through my alata now and see if I can see any of those elusive seeds! Regards, Tecoma
You are welcome.Scaevola(fan flower) hides it's seeds down in the stem also.
