Pom, it looks like a female Common YT to me...but I'm no expert. I am at work (Shhhh!) and do not have my field guide with me.

Tufted titmouse was hanging around. We usually have our birdfeeder up by now, but because its branch position is gone, working on another spot, trying to keep it so squirrels can't jump to it from the tree trunk.

great shot of the in flight flicker, duc. And nanny, you're so lucky with those warblers!

Here's a shot of a brave, molting goldfinch. The rest flew away (which they do at the slightest movement), but this one didn't mind my presence.

I've come to the realization that the group of Buntings that have arrived here are not females, but immature males. If you look closely you can see various blues and greens starting on them.

Another look at what I think is an immature male Painted Bunting.

So many nice shots on this thread. Everybody's busy birding in what may soon be the worlds # 1 "sport".

Here's another photo of the Green Heron, with his reflection on the water ......

I was sitting in my pick up near the bird feeding station having a cup of coffee and waiting for some birds to show up when a Goldfinch flew into the window and almost landed on my head. I watched it land on the bird house, so after sopping up the coffee (luckily lukewarm) in my lap I snapped a pic of it watching..........

I've never understood why a 'green heron' isn't called a 'brown heron'..

Wilmar, AR(Zone 8a)

same here, irisMA. I don't see much green about it!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I was able to sneak up on this Blue Jay foraging in the brush.

Some of the subspecies in other parts of the world are at least somewhat green . . . but overall, I think I'd agree ;-)
