Can someone point me in the direction of an 'Overwintering' forum? This will be my first year in a basement and sure would like someone to give some advice. I overwintered in an insulated shed last year and probably lost half my plants before learning this summer that most plants don't need to be watered much during winter months, which is probably why I lost so many. Anyways, any help would be appreciated!
Overwintering Forum?
we dont have one that i know of but if you go to specific plant type forums they should be able to answer questions or post them here. someone will be glad to answer them.
Look under Communities and you will find one on over wintering. That is what I did. There is a lot of information there.
bobyrd--do you have a link to the particular forum you're talking about? I'm not aware of one specifically for overwintering and didn't see one when I checked the forum list. I'd recommend what imzadi said about going to specific plant type forums. Or if you want all your answers in one place you could post your plant list here and hopefully be able to get some advice on most of them. Different plants are going to have different requirements--some will be fine as long as you keep them from freezing, some need more heat than that, some are fine if you leave them in a dark shed/basement and let them go dormant but others need some light for best results.
whoops, I guess I was thinking of wintersowing. sorry.
