I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Presently I have a black eyed susan vine in my back yard. Can someone tell me if this plant is an annual or a perennial? If it is a perennial, should it be brought indoors for the winter months?
Black Eyed Susan Vine
annual sets seeds you can try to over winter it and may come back. mine comes back each year but my temps arent so cold in the winter.
It's an annual. I grew some last year from seed for the first time. Ufortunately, it set seeds and is coming up everywhere this year. I'm more inclined now to think of it as a nuisance since it does grow quickly. It almost smothered my clematis, and a rose and some perennials this year. It is also growing in areas that it wasn't planted in last year.
I'm assuming that you have a harsher winter, so maybe that will prevent the growth that I am seeing this year.
