Gorgeous little guy! Hope his plane ride was okay too. Love 'em little and big, okay in between too. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures of him as he grows.
My Baby Magic Had a Seizure Tonight
Spike, for such a sweet little guy? He is just too cute. I'm glad you have a new friend. Like Pix said, it will be fun to watch him grow, which won't be a whole lot. I'm sure he'll give you lots of love. Now I'll have to go to my neighbor's house and get a dog fix again. Pansy won't mind, she likes it when I'm missing a dog.
Carol you have a great man in your life again. Steve would approve. Now lets see who wraps who around the finger. LOL
Congrats on Spike's safe arrival. He is a little charmer.
He's a cutie!!
Steve, MY Steve was not an animal lover, but he would approve of the fact that I waited until he died to get one! He tolerated my cats, but only because he learned from Day One that he wouldn't be seeing me if he didn't learn to do so!
He's definitely got me wrapped around his little paw already! We go to the vet in a couple hours for his check-up . . . I need to make a list of my questions.
Tills, Tyler honestly does have a big smile on his face - what a love!!!
Hypoglycemia is not normal and may be related to genetics or parasites. Get a stool checked for Coccidia etc. Pets you get off the airplane are not always from healthy environments. (Puppy mills) I doubt yours is but if he is from Kansas or any state within 200 miles that is a concern. Don't panic just have your vet see if he is healthy, genetically sound, and free of parasites. I just want you to ask the right questions. Sorry. Steve the vet.
I had the same concerns with my new addition last year.
Oh I meant to add Steve (your Steve) now is an animal lover. He can see the joy that you have with this gift. He loved you so much.

Thanks, Dr. Steve!!! I had him to the vet today and he is very, very healthy - I admit I was a bit concerned about getting him the way I did, but had to trust my gut feeling (what else did I have at that point???!!!). How old/big is your darling pup now?
Anyway, all is well with Spike. I probably won't ever get a dog that way again, but at least I was blessed with a good one. And he's a big Yorkie, btw - he's almost four pounds and only eight weeks old! And my vet said at his size, hypoglycemia isn't likely anyway - he's quite the little bruiser. Can you tell I'm positively in love with the little bugger already?
Kathy, how is Magic doing on his meds?
Good news Carol. I thought hypoglycemia was not it. Good!
Our resident vet to the rescue again! Thanks for being here. That pup is adorable.
And Tilly, so is Tyler. Quite a handsome young man.
Murmur, so glad to hear your new charge is so healthy.
Ooooo Now I'm crying for a new puppy. Not!!! Don't need!!!! stop me!!!! help. No I want a new kitten, NO my DH would kill me and bury me in the back 40, I love fur babies LOL
But anyway Carol so glad he is, THE ONE to make you Happy and is 100% healthy as Steve says getting animals like that is scary. When I got Tyler. I Was concerned and a little worried on how the whole thing happened. Long story. But he's healthy and happy and will be 2 in Dec.
His nickname is Bunny butt, if you watch him run he looks like a white tail rabbit, too funny.
Hugs
My son just rescue this one, was malnourished and real skinny, not sure what he is, do know he is part Pitt Bull. but so was my Buddy that was killed in the car wreck. Best dog I ever had. He just might be.
He has been gaining weight.
Mary, is he living at your place or you son's? He does look like a sweetheart - poor little guy . . . I despise that people desert their animals, or drop them off somewhere, not knowing what will happen to them.
Carol your baby is so precious. My neighbors had one named Baby, she was teeny tiny but as fierce as a lion if she was protecting her owner.
This is Rafty, he was dumped here several years ago, a flea infested mess, so thin you could count his bones. Now he is in charge of keeping the rodent, rabbit, and snake population down. He lives a life of luxury, having his own small living room in the greenhouse. He loves to have his belly rubbed and is the most gentle cat we've ever had.
What a sweetie Baby is. I think rescued cats are so appreciative that they make the best companions. They've been 'out there' and are just so happy to be taken care of and loved.
Rafty is wonderful - and I so agree that the ones that are 'saved' are truly appreciative (except for my Margie who thinks she is Queen).
ROTFL
Carol, no they don't live here, thank my lucky stars ( he drives me crazy) not that I don't love him or anything bad like that. But he can talk a mile a minute and not say anything then make a complete circle and repeat it. He has had drug issues in the passed. And has been clean and sober for 3 years, I give him lots of Kudos for that. He loves animals and will keep him if at all possible, if not, I will end up keeping him. That has have happend before. But I don't think so this time. He really loves that pup. And the name he gave him, which I have not got a clue to why is "Bail" He is a ball of engery and gives Tyler a run for his money LOL. Ester wants no part in it, She has this low growl, like a mother with weaning pups does when saying NO. She has never had pups but she is very good with him.
Tilly, that dog is darling - I'm glad your brother has him, and I also give your brother kudos for being clean and sober.
Ester and Tyler are hilarious - I absolutely love the different responses to Bail!
Bail looks like a real sweetie, though an abundantly energetic one. That picture of Tyler and Bail barking in duet is hilarious. I can almost hear them over the internet. I'm really glad to hear your son made a turn around in his life. Going through personal challenges like that and coming out the other side is not easy. Now he has that pup to keep him company. Bet they're a great pair.
What cuties!!
Thistle, what a great cat. Fat and happy the way they are meant to be.
Tils, that pup is sure cute.
Thanks all, it was a real trial for a few years.
Here is a photo of the cat my daughter picked up in downtown Salem. She has brought him with her for the Thanksgiving holiday. Interestingly, she is not showing allergies to him like she does to our cats, so likely he has less of the protein that causes the allergies. That's nice since she has not yet found his home. He is neutered and didn't even have fleas, plus is really, really friendly for a cat. He lets anyone pick him up and pet him and did not run and hide when Claire put him down in the house. He just explored everything in an interested sort of way. Also he is fleshed out nicely so he hasn't been on the streets for long. She took him to a vet and he checks out as healthy, but no computer chip.
My cats were simply disgusted that I would even THINK of having this animal in their garage. I feared for him, so he is sleeping in the office. Cleo had her hair up on her back so high she looked like a ridgeback. Crookshanks was making a noise I didn't realize he could make. No reason to put anyone through that.
He found this nice perch next to family photos where he can survey the action and stay clear of the dogs. I don't think he has been around dogs because he was clinging to Claire for dear life when they approached, even though they are completely kind to him. Franny had her nose put out of joint because this cat will not let her lick his ears.
Surprisingly, Claire says she does not want to keep him. As much as she likes cats, he is a little too needy for her. Probably would be better off with someone who was home more and who had other cats who would accept him. Also, he likes to go outside and she lives in an apartment and won't let him go out alone. But he immediately used a litter box, so at least we know that he had used one before. He's never had an accident inside.
He sounds like the perfect cat for somebody!! What a sweetheart.
Oh I wish I could take him. But I would have the same problem. My 4 rule the roost and the dogs abide by it. (such wussies) LOL
He is a cutie. Poor guy. Hope she finds a good home for him.
So ummm Pix, does this mean that maybe he might just need to stay with you for awhile,,,,,,, permanently?
He is a good looking cat.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww . . . what a sweet kitty. But Margie would be acting like Cleo and Crookshanks (what a great name) and is having enough trouble adjusting to Spike.
I bet someone is missing that handsome fellow. It's a shame he didn't have a chip. Sounds like he just wants a forever home with someone to love.
I think that you know the value of your special friend. You are a special person my friend. May our friend provide happiness for someone who knows love.
He really is such a nice cat. Is it possible that he doesn't shed? I can't figure it out. There is no shedding. Is this a seasonal thing because both my cats shed. He's been sleeping on the couch for most of the evening and loves Andrew. He hasn't tried to get outside from my house, probably because it's not a small apartment. If I didn't already have 2 other cats I would keep him. But he is not going anywhere unless it's to a good home. Claire says that he has not scratched on her furniture or sprayed, either.
How precious is that? Somebody knows how to cuddle . . .
I would say with that last picture our kitty already has a home. LOL
Three cats is a nice round number, Pixy - didn't you know that?
