DAILY PICS Vol. 143

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Thanks pelle for asking me to start the new thread! :)

Last thread is here:

Yesterday was very cold and dull again, birds turned up for a last minute fill. The Nuthatch was back, this time joined by Blue Tits and a Great Tit and it took no notice!

Later a Greenfinch turned up, it was a juggle between it and the blue Tit. Poor pics but it was very dull.

Nice pics! Thanks for starting the new thread wallaby! I like your Nuthatch.

Gary, Wonderful shots on the last thread but I didn't like seeing that snow.

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Thanks pelle, I think it might be a regular visitor now!

Blue Tit's not sure he likes that..

The Nuthatch was intent on getting a peanut from the broken part, but took a wile doing it and nothing was going to stop it! It needs lessons from the Great Tit, lol, and poor Blue Tit doesn't seem to have found that yet.

cool series of pics Wallaby

I had a nice and intelligent visitor today. As he came flying in he was imitating the first part of a Northern Flickers call. He's quite a ham and loves the sound of the camera.
You could see he was absorbing it all into his wonderful little brain, so I expect soon I'll hear him imitating the noise of the camera.

I was shooting in burst mode and kept taking photos just so he could hear it more.

This is it. I was so happy he stopped by.

Thanks onewish!

Great shots pelle, you can see the cogs ticking over in his brain, lol. I love the expressions on different birds.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Great pictures Wallaby!

Beautiful pics Pelle and congrats on the gold-crowned kinglet! A few years ago, a Halloween decoration kept going off over and over in the morning sun. I turned it off, but kept hearing it. Some type of blackbird was on the telephone wire with a perfect imitation of my screaming skeleton!

Can you believe this little one posed in almost the exact same position today and it did yesterday?

Very nice Elphaba! Thats hysterical about him imitating that.

Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

I took a walk in the common area today and heard a bunch of birds. I think they were chipping sparrows. This was the best picture I could get.

Here's where they were before I scared them all off. Such a perfect natural spot - dead trees and lots of branches.

Hi eevie, That is a great spot! Thats a White-throated Sparrow.

I saw my first one the other day, a winter bird for me.

Florence, MS(Zone 8b)

Congrats evie, I have only seen one in my lifetime.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

I had another of the tan form (or maybe the same one) today. Glad to see them back.

Pell, beautiful details in the Mockingbird pictures.

Hey Elphaba, I got this Nashville Warbler yesterday!!

It is just so funny that I spent all summer savoring the quick sightings I would get here & there of the Eastern Towhee's. Tracking them thru their calls hoping for a glimpse. Now they are popping up every where & I see one just about everyday or two!!

Nice start everyone, I love the peeping tom!

I had a wonderful day at Kielder on Sunday and the highlight was the bird of prey centre. It was unbelievably thrilling to see these magnificent birds so close.
