As awlways I am moved by the beauty of the blooms find here on this forum..

Mike - Love the vines on your fence and pretty bloom photo!

I am sending you blue blooming MG vine seeds for your new house. Good luck with the sowing in the Spring! :-) Your doggies won't chew on them, right? The seeds are poisonous. I am concerned the horse might eat the MGs and get sick. Horses often will eat vines. Maybe you shouldn't plant the seeds along the very back of your property just in case the horse does nibble on anything growing along your chain link fence in that area.

Hi everyone, I am new to MGs. I saw some on a fence today that were med blue and big, about three to four inches in diameter. They were stunning. I had no idea that there were so many types of MGs. I thought they were all like the small wild ones growing up my slope and power pole.

I would love to have some seeds from a blue one if anyone has some they'd part with. I'd glady pay postage.

Thanks, Jeanne

I think I might be getting a bloom on my Flying Saucer soon. I would love to get a seed from it, what do I need to do to hand pollinate it?

Jeanne, I will be glad to send you some seeds. Just dmail me and send a SASE and I'll give you seeds. Some of them I do not know what color and what they are as they were given to be in a large mystery bag. However, I am collecting some no id pink ones and you can have some of those. None of my blues have produced any seeds.

Hi Jeanne! Welcome to the MG Forum. I have some deep blue blooming vine seeds. D-mail if you are still looking for some.

LiliMerci - I have a Flying Saucer vine growing and I am seeing lots of buds on it. Though I am not sure if it really is FS or Blue Star. Time will tell. :-)

Lili and Becky, you have d-mail Jeanne

Becky, they look very close. My Flying Saucer tends to have the striking blue and white stripes in them.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

I bought some very cheap packets of Flying Saucer seeds from American Seed Company. I had read somewhere that a lot of times their seeds are not accurately labeled and that often the FS are Blue Star instead.

It has been raining off and on all day. This rain has got to stop before I have an outbreak of rust on my vines. Ugh!!!

I had 3 blooms on Blue Blizzard today. No seed pods yet after all the blooms I've already had. I've been trying to hand pollinate them, but I may have to cross them to get seeds because I am seeing no pollen on any of the blooms. Which is a real bummer!

The bloom that showed up this morning on Q0426 was a little different today. Don't know if it was the weather that caused this ...

I had 2 blooms on LYK today that had unusual shaped smaller blooms. Interesting ...

This is what the other blooms on LYK look like ... definitely crossed with Kohkan on this vine. The other vine (above) might be crossed with something like Sunsmiles.

Becky, What beautiful blooms.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Spectacular Becky!! The blue blizzard is definitely my favorite!!

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

Ya'll stop with the pics already! I'm dying here. They are so beautiful. It's a good thing I'm patient. Lili and Becky have been so kind as to help me get started and learn more about the MGs but it will be next summer before I see any. Same as with my brugmansias. Seven cuttings and one tree, next year before any blooms. Oh but they are all worth the wait.

Ronnie, I agree re the Blue Blizzard. Extra showy and fast becoming one of my
favorites too. Great pics Becky.

Maisugata is Gorgeous!!! Excellent work ~the photo may not do it justice but the coloring, is, WOW!

Becky - I love your blooms! and everybody's too, they look so nice! I hope mine turns out like yours. I did start on ONE seed of Gray Fog lol I couldn't resist. It was too cold though and she never came up....still have a couple more for spring. Also started Ron's gray mixed...pretty interesting cotyledons.

Joseph - don't know if this is a continuation of the older thread, but I found a picture that you've linked. It's your xiongs - mine are starting to show sepals already and I hope the blooms turn out like this http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=5363243. I like the margins and the reddish throat =D. *crosses fingers*, as stated before, I'm housing them inside my room with lights and lamps.

Your latest blooms are just gorgeous Becky! Yours are very nice too Mike and Debra.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debra, yours looks like a Blue Star with the star fading to lavender or purple.
It's very pretty.
Mike, you grew some beauties at your old house. I'll mail you some seeds
shortly.

Time for a new thread #22
