blackberry lily

I first found this beauty in a ditch. I have been growing it for 4 years now. I can't get new plants started from seed. I have tried planting in fall & spring. In dry & wet soil. In good & poor soil. With the fleshy skin coating & by removing it. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong???

I think Blackberry lilies are like irises, growing from tubers at the roots. Although seeds must root, because I have them all over my flower beds. I found mine at an old homesite on a farm we bought in Virginia.
I gave some plants, tuber and all to my sister-n-law and they grew fine for her in North Carolina. They are most unusual.

I have had my blackberry for a few years now. I got it at The Corn Crib landscaping and nursery. This year I moved it were it was to a hillside. I just leave it alone and let the seeds drop where they are. About a third of them take root and bloom. Like I said I just leave it alone and let it do it's own thing. I would say it gets at least 6 hours sun.

I have a corner I want to fill with them. Dividing the tubers works very well, but there has to be a way to start with seeds.
