Can strawberries be grown in lower colorado?

I'm from Las Vegas, NV. We don't really garden over there. lol. Now i've moved into a place with a great big yard, but have no idea what to grow. more like what will grow for next season. any help would really be appreciated.

First thing I'd do is check out your local garden center they usually have very knowledgable and helpful people.
