DAILY PICS VOLUME 142

Melbourne, FL

I figured when Hawks were around and announcing themselves, they were not hunting. When that Hawk swooped down the other day he made no sound whatsoever. But this morning a Blue Jay began that screeching (they can sound remarkably like the Hawk) and you should have seen birds scattering in all directions!

Nice pics GP!

I have found that if you have the same text from the same user twice .... it won't post the repeat post... even if it is another picture

the reason your 2nd post wouldn't show is because you already typed "2nd pic." in this thread

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=5630717

if you typed "2nd pic....." it would have showed up

Marlton, NJ

That solves that one. Thanks onewish.

Do you have any idea why the pics or prints aren't showing up when 1 person makes their own thread but doesn't make repeat comments?

I've tried so many things and still can't figure it out.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

huh? repeat comments too. that's odd. I know that if you name the photo the same…

Melbourne, FL

I realized that later. Seems stupid to me that you have to write totally different comments in order to upload a picture. Edited to add I'm pretty sure I caught a glimpse of one of the Yellow-Rumped Warblers today.

and no Pelle I am not sure why yours don't show up now & then... I can't say I am a know it all

:)

Marlton, NJ

Well your the first person to come up with that so for just now you are

the head know it all. :-)))

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

This is a test.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Heard a schreech owl about 1:00 am this morning. Luckily it didn't keep on very long.

Melbourne, FL

I wonder if you just wanted to write 1st pic, 2nd pic but added *,#,@, etc after each one if that would work.

Tufted Titmouse this morning. You can see the seed between his feet.

Pelle, you really get great shots of those tiny birds!

I'm sharing two pretty lousy shots of a Nashville Warbler. I was pretty happy to get a picture at all.

Here's the other one. She really wanted to be under the falling water.

All the fun birds showed up together and I got too excited. This shot of the Chickadee not nearly as bad as the Gnat Catcher or the Downy Woodpecker shots. Oh well.

Well, what a day. 12 hours at work! Sorry only time to lurk most of the day. So here's one from the weekend. I came home to 4 crows wandering the street. This one had a hickory nut! Just a hoot.

I downloaded the newest version of Picasa, which has a nice mosaic feature for photos. You will need to resize after making the collage in most cases.

I had just stepped out onto the back porch when all of a sudden a Northern Flicker came onto the tree with the suet!
He of course saw me and flew right off but I was so excited to see him come to the feeders as I've never seen that before.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Hey, congrats! Hope it comes back.

This little one is cracking me up with it's peeps and wing quivers.

Speaking of Flickers, we spotted a pair of new arrivals in the neighbor's Virginia Creeper vine. The birds are here every year for the blue berries in the fall.

This Mocking Bird also arrives in the fall for the berries. This one didn't care that we were having a tiny bit of rain.

I was trying to fill the hummer feeders the other night for the last time before the last rush for sugar water. Three of the hummers refused to leave their perches and this one let me touch it while I talked to it. I ran in the house, told hubbie to grab the camera and returned to again touch this Anna's hummer while it ate. It was an immature little one and they have little fear of me at any time. What a feeling!
