leaves falling off

La Vernia, TX

the leaves on my ZZ plant are falling off. will they grow back?

(Zone 1)

Are the leaves turning yellow before falling? If so, it could be from too much water. The ZZ likes to be kept on the dry side. Here's the Plant Files information for ZZ: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2142/

yes they did thanks!

The problem then is probably too much water. The ZZ plant likes low light and to stay on the dry side. You might want to remove the plant from the pot and check the roots. If there are any rotted roots you can trim them off and replant in fresh soil.

What in the heck is a ZZ plant? Are you talking about pedilanthus?

Zamioculcas zamiifolia http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2142/ Quite a mouthful, hence the abbreviated name ZZ.

Pedilanthus is sometimes called zigzag, so my guess wasn't TOO FAR off the wall. TKS ecrane3.

Nice plant! Too tropical for us, unless in a greenhouse over the winter.

They're pretty popular as houseplants, I've seen a number of people post about them being grown that way.
