I took a bunch of different pictures of this guy as he fluttered around my pumpkin patch. He landed on the Zinnia's and I caught the pink from the flower reflect of his white spots on his wings.

Then he turned and looked right at me! lol

Notice all the buds and blooms on this NEW TOAD LILY? Why then am I not tickled pink?? Because it was supposed to be a YELLOW TOAD LILY!!!!!!
The good news is that this one looks like 'Raspberry Mousse' which is one I didn't have. However, the rating from one member in PF's is that this is a virused TL. How lucky can I get??

Maybe you'll get warts if you touch it...

Gee thanks! Just what I wanted to hear!!

I bought "Golden Leopard' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/167605/
and 'Yellow Sunrise' Toad Lilies this spring. One is struggling and i'll not get to see if it's yellow this year and this one is obviously NOT!

Karen, I'd love a pond like that with all the different hostas. Beautiful!

JoAnn, gorgeous scenery. I love to take a country drive in the fall. We usually at least get out to buy apples and pumpkins.

Bill, I like your rock/shade garden, too. I have so little shade, it limits what I can grow. I guess I'd take all the sun rather than all shade, though.

here's 'Coral Nymph' salvia that I wintersowed and never got planted. just now blooming in it's plastic bag home.

I love that Halo Sunrise! Hibiscus are wonderful, I need to get a nice pink one like that. I have one or two buds left on mine and then it's done for the season.

Celeste, I can try to save you some seed. I have an almost foolproof method for germination, too.

I gotta put this somewhere so here is good.

Other rust stain removal methods include:

Naval jelly works for removing rust stains from floors and furniture, and it can also remove the stains from clothes. Rub the naval jelly into the garment and allow to sit for a while. Launder as usual. Use an over-the-counter rust remover. Many industrial cleaning products are formulated to remove rust stains from fabric. Follow the instructions on the back of the bottle. Boil rhubarb for twenty minutes, remove the stalks, and soak the garment in the rhubarb water until the rust stains are removed or at least most have disappeared. Launder as usual. Rub stains with salt and lemon, and leave in the sun to dry. Launder as usual. Wet the garment and dab with a bit of cream of tartar. Allow it to sit for a while and launder as usual.
There’s really no need to panic if you have rust stains on your clothing. The stains are easy to remove. Just follow the simple suggestions above, and no one will ever know the difference!

I don't know about stains, but the jelly in my bellybutton sounds like fun.

Sherrie did you put that on the clean and clutter free forum?

I have a question for the gardener who had turtles nesting in her beds.
The pictures were posted this spring, forgot whose they were.
How did that work out?

Good morning Deb.
Guess youve gone back to work keeping these kind of hours.
Thanks for the name.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

You're welcome.
I'm still working, but am up early every day. I can't stay awake at night, usually not past 10.
Be careful digging today.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I have some shallower bulbs and Bulb Boost .
Coridilys(sp) and Squills.
Love those early April ones, you can put them anywhere, theyve gone by when the bigger plants emerge.
These will go into the Hosta beds.

Great pics, everyone!

Pixie, I love the butterfly shots. Very nice! I didn't know some toad lilies came with viruses.

Allison, cute doggie! Where did you get yours? I got mine at the Christmas Tree Shop. I got some resin pieces there this year that are all cracking, one very badly. I'm going to return them and get my money back. Really bad quality stuff. But the doggie has weathered nicely for me. I got him a few years ago.

Jan, thanks for the compliments on my pond. That 'Coral Nymph' salvia really does well in the garden. I grew it this year and have been very happy with it. Just keeps blooming and blooming. Gets quite large, too.

Mrsj, that's a nice looking pic of your rose.

Schickenlady, how about if you have iron in your water that leaves rust stains on your clothes when you launder them? Would putting lemon in the water keep them from getting the stains, do you think?

Karen

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

MrsJ, I like the pic of your rose. they surely do like the cooler weather.
this is 'Royal Bonica', one of the few roses that is not in my rose garden. I am adding some to my cottage garden that is new this year
