Whenever I want to go shopping for plants online...I go and fill up a shopping cart at the site with what I want and then look at the total to give myself sticker shock. Then I let it set a week to make sure I really can afford it and or still want it. Most of the time I don't buy.

Hi Hot's Wow! I am beat. Today was the first day of the real deal (DH School Bus Driving) and me and Amiyah were here all day until about 4:15 when Chelsea came and took her to GGM house. And, she wouldn't take a nap today and life in Minnesota can be so weird because the weather can be so extreme. After a string of 80's, we maybe topped 55 today and my sweet potato vines got zapped, clouds and cold. Try telling that to a baby. I got to so far back up the line to read the thread, just skimmed but Thanks Karen and that's cool we both have Chelseas and Deb, so coincidental all the Sandys, Debs, Karens and Bretts. Louise I forgot to say thank you on the temperature info for brugs, mine need attention after being blown over, but not tonight.. also as I was printing off Thread #20, I saw the blue Hib Karen or one of the Hotties posted and it is really purple.. (yikes, sorry Blue Hibiscus lovers, it looked purplish to me) But still is a gorgeous color and looks very shiny and pretty.. I think one of the girls at the ru has one from the gardens she works at, I'll keep an eye on her and if we don't find any for the Hotties now, maybe next year she can share a few cuttings for us. Not sure IF it's the one, but I'll try to remember to ask her about it.. Sandy, it's the season for that kind of weather, some years it's like that here, but I'm not a cold weather lover, anyway. It was probably unsettling for both you and Amiyah to not have your DH around today. But it will be better, just take some getting used to.. I hope he liked his 1st day, he's got more patience and courage than I would. I love kids, but 30 or 40 and driving, too... 3 cheers for him!

Evening everyone. I got home before sunset! And what did I see but the most beautiful plants left by lav4ever and Bonnie. Everything is beautiful! The blue hib is unreal. The brugs are coming in the sun room so they will bloom this winter and I can take pictures and be a proud Mama....
Anything I have I will gladly take cuttings for any Hottie.

Ok, Hotties if tomorrow I start to sound strange think nothing of it, I am going to morph into a butterfly! I am changing my eating habits, giving up diet pepsi except on special occasions, working less, exercising more, and if that wasn't enough I am going on a budget. So far warning to all! LOL..... So by spring I will be healthy, have more time, and have started saving for my greenhouse! What a goal! Figure if I tell enough people it will keep me on track.
They had black-eyed susan vines growing all over southern Missouri. We toured the landscape of Big Cedar Lodge owned by Bass Pro and they had some beautiful black-eyed susan vines and the coolest plant that was almost black with bright red and green round berries. It was called a black pearl pepper plant and the seeds are hot hot hot, but it was beautiful. I am growing some next year. Say black pearl peppper plant 3 times fast!
Gotta order it from that Joy Creek in Scappoose, but I don't think we have the climate to grow them like that here in the Midwest... Cat, I'm sorry. How bout a PG Hydrangea Tree? I've got white or pink, the white slowly changes to pink and I haven't seen blooms on the pink one yet, but I could send you a couple snips of them... they were twigs when I planted them and they are hardy here.. Just wanted to check in and say hi all! I've been busy playing in the dirt today. My fun came to an end when my youngest (6) ran over my oldest (9) with his bike. Poor baby, he barreled right into his face. He even has the tire print on his face and down his neck. The PTB must have know tomorrow was picture day!
