I am still tryin to wake up. Don't now who decided it is proper to get up with the chickens, but i think it is crazy. My philosophy is to stay up all night and make sure the chickens are safe and then sleep till 11. LOL

Sheila

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

I'm A good ways from Rome i'm completely ignorant when it comes to telling distance in miles i always let my long Distance customers talk to my DH so he can give actual mileage.

Haven't sold a chicken in at least 4 months i believe anyway since this pox started.

I'm going up to the flea market tomarrow though only got 6 chickens to sell they been in isolation during all this pox.
Got about 30 doves going and about 15 pigeons so i will be able to get my vaccine and have some coop buildin money.

Oh and My barred rock hens i have in isolation are starting to lay.(hatchin eggs)

Sorry to talk about pox here i aploligize no downers i promise!!!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh ok thanks, just knew we had a georgian here and my DH is going to rome next week.

Clarkson, KY

JKJ, I reeeally gotcha with the pecahns, huh?! Ours are still green here. They'll start dropping in 2-3 weeks I think...

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

this was a slow moving thread for so long and now look at ya chatty people. trying hard to keep up the top forum :)

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

grow, ours are just starting. but the squirrels are getting them as fast as they drop. last year out of 3 trees, i got half a coffe can full

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Hooray on your barred rock eggs Harmony!

Clarkson, KY

Gah! Selfish squirrely things!! Mine weren't good enough for the squirrels and I still got about the same...

(Zone 7b)

The weather plays a big part in pecan tree nut count's it seems some years there's tons and the next theres none.

Lodi, United States

Is it like oak trees? They have a definite cycle of heavy years followed by light years. Once when I lived in Maryland it was a light year and the squirrels almost starved.
