hah!!! what a question! Now, lookee here..I've made wine from elderberries (put too much sugar in it tho, so we ended up pouring it over Briar's ice cream...VERY good!), and also wine from Welch's grape juice (buy the frozen kind, dilute it, add yeast, put it in gallon jugs with a balloon on the top....the balloon will inflate as the yeast works! What a pretty site! Rows of Balloons on gallon jugs! Anyway, when the balloons DE-flate, the PARTY IS ON! Er,..sorry,...I mean the WINE IS READY!) As for making wine from beans....hmmmm, sounds very entertaining. At this point in my life I can't say I've done that. Wouldn't mind trying it tho! Right now, I've got scuppernongs out there in the woods that need pickin' tho...reckon I best git out there tomorry and start me a good batch of 'em. Sure would like to hear some more on this bean wine tho! Lilith, we're holding ya to it! (And Lisa, don't worry, I'll drink it downwind.)

I opened this thread and thought you hav come up with a new energy source to replace gasoline and ethanol! Maybe you have at that! But the emissions might be harder to live with than carbon dioxide!

At least the emissions would be bio-degradeable..

No, but we will be if we get the wine made!

Durham, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

i'll see her tomorrow and will ask her then. i thought she was mad when she made it, but it turned out nice! i suppose you can make wine from anything! my neighbour has got first bags on my elderberries, they're just starting to ripen up now, have to get them before the birds do! they love them!

maybe if you shell all the beans and freeze them you could use just the pods, two for the price of one! hehe
