Resin, thank you for the correction re: Solitary Sandpiper vs. Least Sandpiper. I don't think I will ever get some of these right. They all look alike ....

Nice photos, all. Excellent variation.

I've been behind, and this is the best forum to catch up with! So many great pictures, and of birds, which are just so awesome :)

linthicum - I could never grow tired of bald eagle shots, esp action shots like the one you have up thread. Such a great glance into a world I never get to see.

When I went to the Coast a few days ago I took this pic and then forgot about it until yesterday. I checked with Resin and he confirmed that it is a Spotted Sandpiper. (a new bird for the list)

Tail end of Hurricane Kyle, could be nasty . . . hope all's well!

Resin

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Everything is well. Thanks for asking. Guess there's an advantage to having colder coastal water. Kyle's damage was minimal. Downed trees and 2300 lost power mostly in Nova Scotia. Only about a dozen are without power at this time. Talked to my son who live in Moncton NB this morning, he told me they received high wind and lots of rain, but no damage. Up here, was mostly a lot of rain. Didn't get what was expected, which is a lot of good news. The tail end seem to be heading towards the middle part of Prince Edward Island, and bottom part of Newfoundland, mostly as a tropical storm.

Thanks Pelle.
I'll be starting the new thread later, so stay tune.
