i am curious about buying those mushroom kits and grow some mushrooms at home, but it seems that few people on here has ever grown the mushrooms.

i wonder if anyone knows any active mushroom forums on the internet?

All the ones I know about are combinations of fungi, ferns etc including the one Greenthumb cited. Not much traffic currently about growing button mushrooms. On the other hand those mushroom kits are pretty simple if you follow directions. You can get into trouble buying the spores and providing your own growing medium. It is possible for the medium to be contaminated with wild spores. You might ask on the beginning vegetable forum, as vegetable growers are the most likely to be growing mushrooms.
