If nobody minds, I'll jump in and add my own. I just discovered MGs this year and are LOVING them.

I have one and I believe it is Milky Way. It's covered in blooms.

is Hanahubuki...

The nature of these blizzard types is to change frequently, but the first bloom that you had posted here
http://pics.davesgarden.com/pics/beckygardener_1222474985_212.jpg
has shown the classic hanahubuki coloration...

Hi Seedsower!

Some pretty awesome blooms you have there! I'm really admiring your lovely collection. Would love to do a seed trade with you (if you get seeds) for these two of yours:
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=5610601 (Which looks a little like Fuji no Monet and this one
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=5610628 Really pretty with that wide white border!

All of them are truly lovely! :-)

Thanks Ron for clarifying the Hanahubuki for me! I can't seem to find many photos of it on the internet.

Ron - Is "Hanafubuki" and "Hanahubuki" the same cultivar or are these 2 different cultivars? Am I spelling it wrong?

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Sandy~absolutely stunning flowers!! I just ♥ this one! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=5610601

i love the "one of a kind" one seedsower

Becky -

You asked

"Is "Hanafubuki" and "Hanahubuki" the same cultivar or are these 2 different cultivars? Am I spelling it wrong?"

The cultivar is spelled slightly differently by different companies in Japan, but the meaning is the same...Cherry Blossom Petal Storm...or Sakata describes theirs as "Hama no Fubuki"...i.e., Blizzard on the Beach...the seeds from different companies are likely to produce blooms that vary a bit...

i've just recieved some ipomoea costata seeds from austrailia.
any advice on growing these would be appreciated.

love the parasitica gerris...

Joseph, Love the parasitica. When I enlarged the 1st photo, I thought it was Count
Dracula. Same colors and small size. Could parasitica be one of it's parents?

Thanks, Jackie and ceej! I haven't a clue, Jackie, I direct all questions towards Ron from whom I obtained the seeds via indirect route to grow out. Does Count Dracula have such large leaves?

ron... do you think i need to treat i costata seeds with smoke? the only sites i can find reference to it on the net seem to suggest this...

also does anybody want some of the i costata seeds, you might have more luck with them than me.. i'm hoping to get a collection of the "caudiciform" types started.

Joseph - Love your Dai! I can't wait until I get blooms on mine! :-) And your I. parasitica is huge! WOW! Looks great!

Ceej - Will shoot a dmail off to you shortly. What is the deal with treating the seeds/vines with smoke????

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Two relatively new ones bloomed for me today. This one is labeled President Bush. I really like it! I've a fondness for pink and this one is so pretty in real life!
