Hello Txcactus, some type of snack would be good.
Josephine.
North Central Texas Roundup Attendance & Food.
Anybody heard if AuntJean is still attending?? I dmailed her but no response and don't see her name here.
I haven't heard from her.
Josephine don't forget to add me, I will bring some hot wings
Hoping to be able to make it - even if just for a little while - want more chicken?
If I am able will bring trades
Kittylover sure hope you feel up to making it to the swap so I can meet ya. Hate you don't feel well. Hopefully you will get some relief and feel better soon. If you are ill I wouldn't worry about the trades, maybe just a day out visiting would help you feel better. Tanarae
I hope so too, Kittylover!
Hello - boy howdy, can life get in the way of best laid plans!
I had every intention of coming - shoot it has been on the calendar for months! However, my mom had emergency heart surgery last week. I didn't go, becasue everyone else went and she told me to stay home. She is due to be released this week, and I am going this weekend to help her while she gets settled in at home. The crisis has passed, but it was really scary last weekend.
I have everyone's trades - Bananna18 or Dennis in Grapevine, if I could drop off my trades for you to take I would appreciate the gesture, or anyone else who would be willing to take them.
thanks for understanding. Lizzy
Your mom will really appreciate your help this week. Glad she is well enough to go home.
I can pick your plants up and get your trades back to you. D mail me.
If I can get them around - I think it would be good for me - I'm so far behind on everything in the garden - getting these plants thinned out (most of what I'm trading really need it) and getting some new ones to take care of is always exciting!
Looking forward to meeting everyone!
Lizzy - hope all goes well getting your mom settled - Look forward to meeting you later
By the way - My new brug - Mountain magic - has a bud!!!! - hope there's time before I have to bring her in!!
It has been just 2 months on the 12th since I had 4 lower lumbar fusions. You won't believe how well I have recovered. BUT...I am banned from working in my garden until it has been 3 months. We will be there because I love every one of you but I won't be bringing trades. I have more plants than I can say grace over at this point. Smiling faces are the blessings of life. Still can't say what we will bring to eat but I will leave that up to my "chef", Mike.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
Christi and Mike
Thank you Christi, we are looking forward to seeing you too.
Josephine.
Hello everybody, Charlene's daughter is not well and she may not come to the swap.
Charlene was bringing a main dish, so we need someone to take up her share.
Also please check the header post at the top of this thread to make sure you don't forget what you are supposed to bring, we don't want to be without some important part of the menu.
At this point it looks like we have
27 members
27 guests
---------------
54 people attending so those people bringing plates cups and silverware please bring accordingly.
Josephine.
Hey Josephine, I will pick up something for a main course and bring it. Tanarae
Thank you Tanarae, I appreciate it.
Josephine.
I found a clematis, it is small and the variety is not known...does anyone want it?
Josephine and Tanarae - above I volunteered more chicken - bucket - not on list - would that be enough to replace Charlene's?
Melva - I'll take it - have wanted to try a clematis
Okay, I will mark it down..I am so glad you are going to be there!
Thanks Melva - take a look @ my list and see if there's something I can bring you
You are probably right Melva, but better too much than not enough.
i will bring a side dish--and maybe come up with something else too--
Josephine, if you have enough side dishes, I can bring a main dish instead.
Josephine, Robert has decided not to make the trip with me this Saturday. He's okay, but very tired, after our four-day trip last week. Plus, the Texas Tech - A&M game will be on television during the middle of the day. So the count is one less.
Oh heck Patricia... I understand , but I was looking forward to talking to him again... please tell him he will be missed!!
Pattie, I think what you are bringing will be fine.
Just got home from hospital. Shelly was admitted. Keep her in your prayers. They found something that they want to take a closer look at in her left frontal lobe of her brain.
Charlene
Take care of yourself through all of this Charlene; eat right, get your rest, etc. We will offer up prayers for Shelly and family.
Charlene, I hope all goes well and it is nothing serious.
Charlene... my prayers are being offered too!!
I will pray for Shelly.
O.K. guys, we are getting very close.
The post at he top of this thread has the link to the park location and directions on how to get there.
If you need more instructions please let me know.
We start at 12 noon to give people coming from out of town a chance to get there on time.
Please check what food or supplies you are supposed to bring and consider the # of people, about 50.
Print your plant trade list and label each plant on your already traded list with the name of the plant and the person you are giving it to, in order to avoid confusion later. Keep those plants separate, you will have a place for those, under the table in your designated space with your name on it,
Label your not traded plants with plant names, so that if you trade them or give them away, people won't have to guess what they are, place those plants on top of the table.
Keep handy the list of plants you are supposed to receive and from whom, so you don't forget to collect the plants that have been promised to you.
As you arrive pull your car close to the pavilion entrance, come to the sign in table, put your name and the names of your guests on the list, get your name tag, and pay your share of the rental fee.
I estimate $4.00 per member will cover it, guests do no pay.
Volunteer helpers will help you take your plants to your place and your food and door prizes to the appropriate tables. PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO BRING ONE ITEM FOR EACH PERSON IN YOUR PARTY.
After you unload please move your car to a parking space so as to let other members do the same operation.
This will allow us to operate smoothly and avoid confusion.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
# 1 EAT LUNCH
#2 DOOR PRIZES
#3 HAVE FUN VISIT AND TRADE TO YOU HEARTS CONTENT.

Josephine.

I plan on coming and i am bringing a friend. i,m not yet sure what plants I'm bringing. I do have some items for the door prizes.
Siggy I added you to the list.
I need to go get some door prizes! What kind of stuff do people generally bring?
Dennis
A small garden tool, a book, a plant, a hat, gloves, nothing expensive, but good for men or women.
do we wrap up the door prizes?
I've used home made items ..ie crafty stuff...a gift baskets wtih goodies such as candles, bath salts, microwave popcorn chex mix ...I think ya get the idea something some one would like
I usually wrap mine, or put them in a gift bag.
Linda, you don't have to wrap them....
