Grow_Jo - I to am interested in whether you keep your orchids under lights all year round. It is one of the things that I always kill ! (There is quite a few actually LOL !)

Thanks guys. I haven't been growing orchids for very long, just a year and a half, so I'm very much a beginner. But oh, the addiction...LOL. I've managed to collect about 55 so far, and there's no end in sight. The blooms you see were plants I purchased in bloom recently; can't claim to have grown them myself. The object will be to get them to rebloom of course....
I just recently started growing them under lights, so we'll see how they do, and yes many of them will be year 'round under lights. I initially started with two shelves in front of a south window. As my collection has expanded, I needed more space and since there wasn't any more available in front of the window, I've added lights. Or I should say my DH added them for me...

We got hit with a frost here last night .. I won't be able to tell how badly the gardens were affected until I get out for a look around .. but .. truth be told .. I am thinking that things will be 'bleak' when the boys arrive .. BUT .. I do have a few TRICKS up my sleeves :-)

Anyways dis mornin weeze goes in da motor ting wit tu ob da monsters tu dis normus park plkace. Da monsters were run run running widout der ties! Weeze jus sits on da roks an enjoys da view. Dat big hill far away is called Nose Hill Park an da liddle spots in da sky are b'loons!
anudder view but da sun wus shinin bright so maybe yu cant c tu well but dat is da skiline ob downtoan Calgary.
Well!!!! den weeze wus suposed tu go tu da place were dey slides dun da hill on wuuds but she says weeze got tu goes home cause she fergits her papers!
