Garden Photos Part 38
great pictures Ceb.
Love the coleus and Persian shield.
Victor, always looking up tall objects! When will you just climb up there?
I like tha apple tree Victor.
Thanks Eve.
Well, I used to climb trees but my joints are creaky now so I'm not your amazon woman. Will you do a Tarzan call before you ascend? Am I getting into hot water here? Better quit while I'm a head. Too much chocolate today.
Gnarly, Victor!
Nice pics, everyone. I didn't take any today, but I did get some weeding done today, and also continued working on a new garden I started last weekend for mostly daylilies. Yes, I ordered more this year. I've received a number of them and there are more to come. Plus I'm moving a bunch from a garden where they were not doing well. Too dry and sandy there, so I'm putting irises in that bed instead.

Beautiful, Deb.
deb, that corkscrew vine and the Persian Shield are gorgeous!
Thanks Victor and Dyane!
Nice, Debi! Wish I was there.
Karen
Nice old mansion Victor. Is that your house?
Too many rooms to dust.
Good, I got here when the thread was still short (whew!). then I can go back and look at the 2 I missed
V, I'm proud of you that you didn't try to pass that off as your own. Gorgeous house. Roses ain't bad either lol
Deb, your combinations are outstanding! the Persian shield and coleus especially. How long have you had your corkscrew vine? this is the 3rd year I tried to start one from seed and I finally succeeded but no flowers yet. I assume I just bring it in and treat it as a houseplant for the winter? I'd love to be in the Finger Lakes on a beautiful fall day...not too bad of a drive from here.
Booj, can I come sit on your porch?
the fairies like these 'Wood's Pink' asters to sit under
Jan, I started the corkscrew from seed indoors in the spring, but, our house is not really warm, so it doesn't help that much to start early. The blooms are just starting to open now, and not sure how long they'll go before a frost. The pots are too big to bring indoors, especially when I have others to bring in too. I may try stem cuttings to see if I can keep them over the winter. I did have the snail vine a couple years ago that did over winter in a pot indoors - lost leaves though. The snail vine was "supposed" to be corkscrew.
I'm going to try stem cuttings of the Persian Shield too, hope it works - love that purple.
I must type slow, you posted a lot since. I like the odd form of the touch of Class!
Thanks, Deb. after all I've gone thru, this one better be a corkscrew. I actually bought one from Park's one year and it was about 2" tall and died. I don't bring much in, but I have the mandevilla in a BIG pot that I love. So I'm going to cut it back, root prune it, put it in a smaller pot and try to save it. I'll try to root the cuttings, too.
