Its getting cold and my bell peppers aren't done!

Jamaica Plain, MA

Hi! I live in Boston and have been growing bell peppers and tomatoes on my fire escape in 10" pots. The plants are still producing lots of peppers and a few tomatoes, but its dropping down to 30-40 at night and 60 during the day. Should I clip all the fruit and call it a season, or can I safely bring the plants inside to a window sill and let them keep growing?

This is my first fire escape garden, so any advice would be great! Thanks!

The temperatures are a lot lower here Brit but I have my tomatoes and peppers in a greenhouse. Yes, bright windowsills will do the job and help to ripen the fruits. I find that you can expect a longer growing season of about 4 - 6 weeks if you grow under glass and inside a house should be even better.

Hope this helps :-)) Rosie

Thanks, Rosie! As I am in an apartment, a greenhouse isn't and option, but I'll bring the plants in soon and let the rest of the fruit ripen! I appreciate you help!
