Question about planting seeds now...

Plymouth, PA(Zone 5b)

Hello I am new to gardening and everything I have read says to plant the following now. However I am wondering if they should be planted now in the garden or if it is better to wait till Late Winter & plant them inside and then move them out after frost has passed?

Here are the flowers:

Jacob's Ladder
Shasta Daisy
Campanula
Hesperis
Centaurea
Echinacea

Thanks for any opinions you can offer,

Definitely plant the hesperis now so it will bloom next year. If yu sow the echinacea now it will germinate in the spring. Which campanula do you have?

I would plant "medium" now, but I'm not sure about the others.

All the plants you list are good re-seed-ers in my zone 5. I'd say it would be Ok to plant any of them now... what doesn't germinate right away will germinate next spring. They can also be started easy enough inside if you want to fuss over your seedlings during the late winter months. Maybe you'd like to try both... a few inside and some outside now.

I start the Shasta Daisy in early spring, & keep transplanting into larger pots until weather is right to plant out.
