chicken phrases.. help please

Clarkson, KY

Only during months ending in "R"

Lodi, United States

Did someone say "chicken livered" before? I can't remember.

"Bantam" weight fighter?

"chicken skin" common name for the condition called keratosis pilaris--where you have rough bumps on the back of your arms etc.

Oops. I actually just found a really and truly bad slang term. First page of googling "chicken terms". I am not going to look at it. And I doubt it is medieval.

I had a good and obvious one last night--but I didn't write it down....Think! Think!

Lodi, United States

Yea! Harmony is back!

Clarkson, KY

Hopefully that thunder is 'Ellie's' litte tangerine feet following along behind...

(Zone 7b)

Clarkson, KY

Lazy_Ladies- I been on probation. No internet service since Friday morning when Ike hit Houston -not Clarkson KY!!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Glad your back Harmony.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Hooray! Harmony is back!! I'm so happy!!! (doin' the chicken happy dance)

Oh please Harmony, show us your baby dove and how it's growing...

Sorry I don't have any chicken phrases. I just had to post that I was happy...

(Zone 7b)

Claire thank grow she did it with love and compassion sweetest person she is. I was amazed but she did it so give it up for her APLAUSE!!!!! Ellie flapin her ears mighty big breeze in here.
My batteries for my camera are in the charger but i will get up a pic and he has his eyes open and because you like him so i will call him Baby Claire or B.C. for short.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

APPLAUSE FOR GROWNUT!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!! Thank you Grownut for bringing Harmony back into our flock. And Ellie too!

Awww, that is so sweet of you to give your dove a name like that! I am so touched! I hope he will grow up big and strong and be a great dove for you.

BTW, Marvin hasn't been back for a few days. I guess he found a pigeon flock to hang out with somewhere else. It was a treat to have him around while he lasted.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

We know our Grow she is such a sweetie, as all of you are also. I love all of you and hope all is ok and over and we can move on. Toast to all. Cheers.

Clarkson, KY

Now if we could just get Marvin back... I don't think I did that though.

(Zone 7b)

Trust me i know pigeons and if marvin is doing what i think he/she is doing they have found a mate in the bird that visited marvin and soon there will be 2 little marvins.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Oh! I didn't realize he'd be doing that. (or she). I thought it was too late in the year. All the Canada geese have started to flock, and the starlings too. Migrations have begun. Do pigeons have babies all year round? If Marvin/Marva is doing that, will he/she bring the babies when they are all grown up to check out the yard and eat? That would be so cool!

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

hey you two, who SAYS we won't kill you both? did you make up with the Chicken Fairy too?

glad to have you back. missing the comaroderie...

(Zone 7b)

Pigeons do mate year round i have to seperate mine to stop them during the winter. Will marvin come back with his brood if you put out feed theres a chance but it all according to if and, or, but when comes to these birds. Keep a watch and one day who knows good old marv just may show up.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

I guess they do it to keep warm! LOL!!!

TF, don't go making threatening statements or you'll throw it all out of kilter again!!

What the heck is comaroderie? Is that when people in comas are getting along? I'm thinking that was supposed to be camaraderie....

I didn't eat supper yet, I'm being nit-picky.

Lodi, United States

"Comaroderie" is one of those code word we Americans use when Canadians are around. If you knew what it meant, you would cry.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Well. Hmpf. Nanny nanny poo poo. Oh right, you got mad at me the last time I said "poo" didn't you.

Lodi, United States

Yep. So mittelbrought to you!

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

central bread?

Clarkson, KY

I've been in trouble with the Chicken Fairy for a while now and haven't been brazen enough to D-mail. Wish I knew why. TF- I'm not nearly as good eatin' as a hunky roo. You could kill me, there's plenty of meat here, but I'm a STRINGY OL BIRD...

Lodi, United States

Don't even try. And don't anyone else tell her. She is a confessed Canadian.

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

Claire, techinically, you didn't say POO you said poopoo... so cat can give it up LOL

you know i could have sworn i was qutoing grownut saying she and harmony thought tf would kill them both if they didn't make up... now i can't fidn where she said that? didn't mean it to sound so harsh, i am not the harsh one...

well, stringy or not, you are one FINE ol biddy... appreciate cha both... and you two too.

Cave Creek, AZ

OK gang...here is all the ones I've collected from this thread, the past thread and another list I posted the question to. I'ts a heck of a list! Thanks ever so much for all the help & I appologise for causing any distress to anyone.

Actually, I have heard that "poppy cock" is a polite corruption of the Dutch for "bull ----". You might want to check that.

Clarkson, KY

Weeelll, that's a good start.lol.

TF, I think I said Y'all, but not finding it either. Just don't let Houston cut out my internet again!!

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

hey harmony i have a spotted turtle neck dove (think that the name) egg in the incubator do you know how long they take to hatch

Lodi, United States

Ha! I snuck over and purloined this from BYC: http://www.backyardchickens.com/fun-chicken-sayings.html

londonderry, Australia

lol

(Zone 7b)

Luckycharm I don't know about turtle doves but these ring necks i have can't be hatched in and incubator. Doves feed thier young crop milk when thier born[hatched] and it's by regurgitaion which in other words they throw it up into the chicks mouth. I don't know about these are they like chicks and eat on thier own when born. I've heard you can raise baby birds with a syringe but i don't have any idea about that "sorry".
My Ring Necks hatch in 18 days and so do pigeons.............
