I live in Ohio. Saw this growing on a vine covering an iron fence in a park. Anyone know its name? Pods start out looking like green bean pods only purple or at least that is how the smaller pods on the other side (not shown) of the fence look.
(Don't quite have the hang of posting so please excuse that I didn't post this as a NEW topic.)

What vine/flower is this?
Actually you did manage to post it as a new topic, so you did it exactly right! It's an Aristolochia of some sort, common name is Dutchman's pipe. I'm not familiar with the genus (beyond recognizing that it's in that genus) so I don't know which species yours is. Here are some to look at--many are not hardy in Ohio but it could be growing as an annual http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/adv_search.php?searcher%5Bcommon%5D=&searcher%5Bfamily%5D=&searcher%5Bgenus%5D=aristolochia&searcher%5Bspecies%5D=&searcher%5Bcultivar%5D=&searcher%5Bhybridizer%5D=&searcher%5Bgrex%5D=&search_prefs%5Bblank_cultivar%5D=&search_prefs%5Bsort_by%5D=rating&images_prefs=with&Search=Search
