New Zebrina Banana Plant (advice?)

It is growing leaves like crazy and I fertilize it maybe once a week. It is in potting soil about three feet deep and after that is red clay. It is starting to yellow around some of the lower leaves and is not as high as used to be. Its height is almost four feet

mid central, FL(Zone 9a)

they are heavy feeders but i think once a week is a little much. the lower leaves will die as it grows and you can just cut them off with a scissors; don't pull them off because it strips the trunk. be sure to mist underneath the leaves periodically. they get spidermites on occasion. if you live in a frost free area, it will just continue to grow. where i am (zone 9), it will die to the ground after a frost and then come back.

I agree with Trackinsand, feeding every week is a bit too much, AND look out for the Red Spider Mites she mentioned, they do like a humid atmosphere so misting under and top of leaves will help also the red mites dont like humidity, the misting wont kill them IF you do have them, but it slows down their sex life a good bit, should you discover you have the mites, there is some sprays that may help,
You dont say which zone you are in but if it is getting cooler at night, this may also be a cause for the leaves to be starting to discolour a bit. good luck. WeeNel.
