someone told me to change colors on my hydrangeas i could use baking soda ?
my hydrangeas
you need to use ammonium sulfate.
Paul
When I lived in Wales blue hydrangeas turned pink in a season because the soil had a high Ph. Paul is right about the ammonium sulfate but only if you want blue hydrangeas. If you want pink ones you should add lime. Here's some good info on the subject http://www.hydrangeashydrangeas.com/colorchange.html
Hope it helps :-))
I'm a transplanted Hoosier. I now assist my maker in growing so many Hydrangeas that I can't count. Don't do anything - let them give you the color they wish. If you decide you want something else, come back to the forum. There will always be gardeners who can offer suggestions.
Happy gardening.
It's Aluminum sulphate you need to use, not ammonium sulphate.
(Just so you don't get the wrong stuff ! )
LOL no wonder I garden organically - I would poison the planet otherwise. Not to hot on technical stuff but the link should help
