Landscaping a new house...anyone want to put in their ideas?

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

We have built a new home across the Chesapeake Bay I think is probably zone 7b. There is NOTHING in the yard except dirty sand. I have bought all of the shrubs I think I need as well as flowers. Wondered if anyone on this forum would like to put in their ideas and help landscape from scratch if I put a list of things I have and add pictures of the house????

oh, if you could give dimensions, sun/shade areas that would be great. Did you say it's lots of sand? Are you near water?

We are half way between the Atlantic and the Bay. Mostly sand and of course we will be "fixing" the soil to accommodate the plants. I have all of the dimensions and have actually made a diagram to scale (1"=2') on graph paper. On one side of the house, the hottest, I plan on using yuccas, sedum, and semps. At the front of the house, a koi pond to the side a bit. There is a covered area between the house and garage where we are having a sort of private breezeway. We have no shade from trees. I guess the most help I need is on either side of the garage doors, the corners of the house, the eastern facing side and southern sides of the garage as well as at the front and back steps to tie everything in together.
i received a private email concerning the committees working on a landscape and that they would not work. I am not of that persuasion. I have worked with many committees and have found that gleaning the great ideas from those not so great and putting them together results in a great plan!!
